If God is opposed to war for Christians as Jws tell us, why is He not opposed to Armageddon?

Fred: Not all Christians believe in a literal Armageddon. Not all Christians believe in a literal Thousand Year Reign. I'm not waiting for either.

Fred, it seems that Jws have been waiting longer than I. How old is the Watchtower Society? And still hanging around.

The New World Translation at Rev. 16:14 says that it is the kings of the entire inhabited earth who will be gathered together to the war of the great day of God the almighty. Gathering place is Har-Mageddon. If this is the mountain of Megiddo in Israel--then Har-Mageddon is not every place on earth nor are all its inhabitants involved. And will the war actually be fought at Megiddon (or just the gathering) and the actual battleground be Jerusalem?

Why God cannot have existed forever.
by sleepy inwhy god cannot have existed forever.. this is something a friend of mine brought up a number of years ago.at the time i just thought that to understand how a god existed forever was just beyond our little brains.. well now after reading a lot more physics books i think its evidence a god couldn't have existed forever and therefore would had a begining (if there was a god).. basically if god had lived from infinity in the past we wouldn't have been created yet as there would always be forever untill we were created.. do you get that?.
at any point in time we could take, if time went back forever then you could never get to that point in time.
you would always have infinity infront of you.. sorry if this doesn't make much sense as it is not easy to describe.

To those who believe in the eternal God no proof is necessary ; to those who do not believe, there can be no proof.

Question about Easter
by Adonai438 ini read a post on here recently about the origin of the word 'easter' and was wondering what it said (i only skimmed it the first time).
it was some info that contradicted the jw argument that it came from the fertility goddess, ishtar.
anyone want to fess up .

I read something about Easter on page 7 of this forum. Towards the bottom of the page see "Christmas and other Holidays?" by Iv4fer.

I Know Christmas is Over this year BUT......
by Adonai438 inshould it be a holiday for christians to celebrate?
christians do not refuse to honor jesus just because of pagan roots, since these pagan roots have no.
the church did not choose december 25th because it was an ancient heathen holiday, but.

I just came across another offshoot, the Church of the Kingdom of God, founded by F.L. Alexander Freytag in 1920. Headquarters are at Cartigny near Geneva, Switzerland. Publishes the "Kingdom of Righteousness Advertiser."

At least Jws only refuse blood transfusions. But here is a group reminiscent of Christian Science that refuses any kind of treatment.
Attleboro, Mass.
"Two members of a religious sect that rejects modern medicine were jailed Tuesday after refusing to cooperate with authorities investigating their missing baby. Juvenile Court Judge Kenneth Nasif said he was not convinced that Rebecca Corneau had a miscarriage last fall, as she said. He told her and David Corneau they had to bring their child to court Feb. 14 or reveal the burial site. The two were led away in handcuffs. State child welfare officials say they think there was a child, and it may have been harmed because of the Corneaus' religious ptractices. The two belong to a sect called 'The Body,' which advocates faith healing over modern medicine." -

Neither David nor Isaiah nor any Old Testament figure, nor Jesus, nor the Apostles, nor the early church, nor later church, nor Russell, nor Rutherford, nor his successors, nor Jws dying in our times have lived eternally on earth (even if that was their hope). They are all gone from the earthly scene. And there are those who will continue to hope. And they will die like the rest.
