Just think of the countless trees that have been cut to publish all that Jehovah's witness literature. How much of it ends up unused? How much of it is recycled? Is there no waste amongst Jws? And what are they doing about replenishing all those trees, since they are so concerned about our environment?

Then scroll down to "Click here for more local news" After going down page one, find page 2 and click. That will lead you to the article "Church's stance attacked" For the "lazy" here is the story:
A man whose son was sexually abused by a Jehovah's Witness has criticized the church after leaders said they would consider keeping the paedophile in their ranks.
The father, who cannot be named for legal reasons, claims Jaswant Patti is still a member of the church, which requires its congregation to be "morally clean."
A Jehovah's Witness spokesman confirmed the church is carrying out an internal investigation into the case, after which Patti could remain a member if he shows "genuine repentance."
Patti was jailed for five years in 1999 after he was found guilty of four offences of indecent assault and one other serious sexual assault against two boys, then aged nine and fourteen.
Following the conviction, church leaders of the Rubery Congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses, in New Street, Rubery, backed Patti. Philip Price, one of the church's elders, even questioned the verdict, quering the strength of the evidence.
The father of one of the victims said: "The church has a policy of disfellowshipping which can be applied to a person who has got a smoking problem and finds it hard to give up.
"Why is Jaswant Patti, who has been convicted and whose name will be on the sex offenders' register for the rest of his life, hasn't been disfellowshipped?"
The spokesman for the U.K. headquarters of the church said he was not able to comment on specific cases.
But he added: "If someone has committed repugnant acts they will be disfellowshipped but it depends on a person's attitude.
"If a person shows genuine repentance it might not mean they are expelled. That's what the elders in the congregagtion would have to determine.
"To be one of Jehovah's Witnesses you have to be morally clean and we try our utmost to keep the depraved out. The person would have to go a long way to prove they're genuinely repentant.
"If they remained a member they would never occupy a position of responsiblity."

My friend is thinking about suicide
by Crystal inso i did some research and found this.. please pass it on.. .

I know that your friend must be experiencing great pain, stress, etc. to be contemplating this final solution to the problem. I hope your friend could realize how much pain this will bring to you who are left behind. Perhaps then, your friend would reconsider. At any rate, all you can do is be there for your friend in this trying time. Perhaps your love can ease and heal the pain. Is there a suicide prevention program in your area? Someone, hopefully more experienced in this field, might be able to talk with your friend as well. Anyway, God bless you and your friend. Be assured of my prayers.

How Do You Feel About Indian Mascots?
by Kenneson insince i live in tallahassee, i will state that our city derives its name from the tallahassee seminoles who were the original inhabitants of the region, when the americans began to arrive circa 1823. the word, however, is of creek derivation and means "old fields.

Since I live in Tallahassee, I will state that our city derives its name from the Tallahassee Seminoles who were the original inhabitants of the region, when the Americans began to arrive circa 1823. The word, however, is of Creek derivation and means "old fields." Early on, starting in the 1820s efforts to remove the Seminoles from the State, led to several Seminole Wars. The majority were finally persuaded to leave (1842) and these eventually became one of the Five Civilized Tribes of Oklahoma. Estimates are that nearly 300 refused to go and hid in the Everglades. Their descendants today number about 2,000 and live on or near three reservations in South Florida. Now Florida State University, thinking they were honoring the Seminoles, took them as their mascot. Of course, if you have ever seen FSU playing, you are probably familiar wih the war chant and the tomahawk chop. So, now comes the question, that has been debated here. Should F.S.U. change its mascot out of respect for the Seminoles? The Seminole nation in Florida as a whole says they are not upset by it, yet some maintain that Indian mascots are not proper for schools. I know F.S.U. is not alone in this matter. There are the Cleveland Indians, the Washington Redskins, Manhattan Indians, Atlanta Braves, Central Michigan Chippewas, public schools with the name of Warriors, Indians, etc. Is it insensitive to the Indians as a whole to depict them as a mascot or to use Indian logo? Any opinions?

Badboy,
Some translations use Junia, a woman's name, rather than Junias, a man's name. One Bible dictionary says she probably was the wife of Andronicus. These individuals preceded Paul into Christianity and were prisoners with him, at Rome. Why couldn't a woman be prominent among the Apostles? Maybe, that is what the W.T. fears. Yet they can't deny that Phoebe (vs. 1) was a woman minister in the congregation at Cenchreae. Vs. 3 (Prisca is Aquila's wife--and there is a congregation in their house). Vs. 6 Greet Mary... Vs. 12 & 13: women (Tryphosa, Tryphaena, and Persis...vs. 13 (Rufus and Paul's mother)...vs. 15 (Julia, and Nereus' sister...)

Bleep writes: "The Bible says no such thing. Where did you find that?"
I agree that the Bible says no such thing. Actually, that is what some Jehovah's Witnesses told me. Now, if what was told me is untrue, tell me who, along with Jehovah's Witnesses, will survive?

The 1986 Watchtower source berates war, revolution and the killing of native Indians by Catholic missionaries, with one breath, and then with the other, tells us that Jehovah will rid the earth of all wickedness (presumably all who are not Jws at Armageddon). Yet we are admonished to love our enemies. If Jws are correct, why don't Jesus and Jehovah follow their own prescription?
