outsmartthesystem - Man, that story from a 1988 WT comes across as a little too fanciful. Does the WT still publish accounts of supposed miraculous events of that calibre, or have they toned it down in recent years?

Why did Satan want to kill Jesus?
by FaithfulBrother inwhy would satan have wanted to kill jesus if jesus' death would defeat satan and save mankind?
why would satan enter judas at the last supper and get judas to betray jesus, leading him to his death, if this death is what defeated satan?.

As a young person, I had this same question whenever I would read/hear the story. The part would come up saying something like "and Satan entered Judas . . ." and then I would be like "wait ... cut ... hold on a second ... Satan surely knows about all the animal sacrifices and how God requires a perfect human sacrifice to atone for sin, and here we have a perfect human son of God, Jesus. Why would Satan assist in the process of killing him? He would be knowingly assisting in his own defeat." Satan is supposedly so crafty, yet even a kid like me could see the problem. At the time, I just let it go & figured it was an element of drama in one part of the Bible that I shouldn't expect to make sense with other parts of the Bible written by different people.

What is the Gospel of JW's in a Nutshell?
by Perry inlet the honest-hearted person compare the kind of preaching of the gospel of the kingdom done by the religious systems of christendom during all the centuries with that done by jehovahs witnesses since the end of world war i in 1918. they are not one and the same kind.
that of jehovahs witnesses is really gospel, or good news, as of gods heavenly kingdom that was established by the enthronement of his son jesus christ at the end of the gentile times in 1914.
- (luke 21:24) the watchtower 5/1/81 p. 17 par.

designs - That makes this part of the quote even more odd: ". . . with that done by Jehovah’s Witnesses since the end of World War I in 1918."

In 1918 they were still teaching that Jesus' invisible presence began in 1874.

Tec's answer, as I understand it from post 8879 on page 1, to the question "why does God allow evil" is:
"We could govern by serving one another. He has taught us how to do so. . . . we have what we have created ourselves."
One problem I have with this answer is her use of the word "we." In the case of the woman getting beat up on the street, the woman is innocent. She is not part of a "we" that created the scenario in which she is getting beat up. She did not create the situation in which the attacker beats her up. Neither did her child.
So the question remains: Why does God allow an innocent person to be harmed? The innocent person did not bring the harm upon him/herself. Using the word "we" to include the innocent in sharing the blame for the crimes of the wicked is simply incorrect.
Meanwhile, God has the power to rescue the innocent person from the hands of the attacker, yet he does not. Why? -

Only certain people really have free will, and they are free to take the will of others. Wow. Thanks.
The stronger and nastier people are the ones given the gift of free will. They take away the free will of the weaker ones, and God doesn't put a stop to their behavior. By not stopping them, God is favoring the free will of the stronger ones and sacrificing the free will of the weaker ones. God will supposedly fix the situation some day, but it has been a long time.

So far, the video creator (DarkMatter2525), cantleave, myself, and NewChapter have clearly explained the problem. darthfader and Amelia Ashton have further pointed out that the JW position reduces the value of human life today. No poster has explained why a person should view God positively in light of the clearly-stated problem.
