  Convention without a 'Badge'

  i attended a convention recently but didn't wear a badge i was treated with the utmost suspicion.

  particularly when i arrived during the sessions one day.

  the attendant didn't want me wandering off to find a seat on my own.

  Quite true and probably a 'normal' experience.. if you dress the part and have a briefcase, you probably wouldn't arouse THAT much suspicion. If you came off the street, you are most likely guaranteed an escort to a seat, with the local section attendant being notified about your presence.. At recent conventions, you'll need a badge to be 'authenticated' as a 'real' JW, whatever that is.

  Is Rev 5:11-14 Worship or Obeisance?

  i asked a jw last week the following question, "is revelation 5:11-14 a worship act to the lamb or an act of obeisance?.

  revelation 5:11-14 nwt states and i saw, and i heard a voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders, and the number of them was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: the lamb that was slaughtered is worthy to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.

  because it's an act of worship and it is not allow in your kingdom hall.

  They can't say it's worship, cause they feel Jesus shouldn't be worshipped. And yet they can't say it's obeisance, because that would be an offense to the One who's sitting on the throne, who's mentioned in the same breath, as if he doesn't deserve to receive the worship. The Apostle John really got em in these verses ;)

  at the meeting tonight was read a letter to all congregations in canada.

  it explained that since most publishers end up with left-over public edition magazines that didn't get placed at the end of each month, they will now no longer continue to have an individual magazine order per publisher.

  instead, the entire congregation's supply of service edition magazines will be in a stack at the back of the kh, and they are to be taken according to need, with whatever is left over after service to be put back in the stack.

  This letter has most definitely NOT been read across Canadian congregations. I know of only one where it has been read. 4-5 others at least have not had the letter read, when they should have read it.

  Question for ex-Bethelites or others in the know: GB members & Bible studies

  at a recent circuit event, one of the carefully scripted interviews was with a young lady who had recently moved from nyc.

  she has been baptized as a jw for about one year.. she made a point, and the interviewer re-emphasized, that her bible study had been conducted by geoffrey jackson (gb member) and later by mark noumair (gilead instructor).. it seems the primary reason for the interview was name-dropping, with perhaps the idea that even "prominent bethelites" conduct bible studies "just like we are supposed to".

  the young lady rambled on about being "grateful for their patience" or some such.

  @Honesty: haha, you are so right. If any interest is show towards a bible study, males *HAVE* to hand off the study to a female and vice versa (assuming genders are the same). That's hilarious.

  honestly, now that i think about it, what is the difference between judgment day(armaggedon) and death?.

  just curious to see how my friends and relatives would react if i responded that way... .

  I'm pretty level-headed (aka not crazy or suicidal) and I've thrown out the comment that I wouldn't want to live forever. The looks on my families faces were pretty priceless - as if the idea had never occured to them, or that it is so absurd. "Of course, you want to live forever, everyone does." They assume it's such a give-in.

  despite this man's facial hair and no mention of religion, he must be one of jehovah's witnesses, cuz surely no worldly person would be so honest.. serioulsy, he credits his parents.

  it always irritated me that whenever a witness does something good they have to throw in "as one of jehovah's witnesses ...." as though they were implying they would otherwise not have done the right thing.. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chibrknews-man-finds-17000and-turns-it-in-20110609,0,6950954.story.

  ...the one person in this world that i called brother passed away.

  i miss him so bad.

  he haunts my thoughts every day and i always see or hear something that rips open the hurtful wound that i got the day he died.

  as a bible based organization, how do feel jehovah's organization should be reformed?

  the answer is quite simple in christendoms churches:.

  1. reject false doctrines like the trinity and 'all christians go to heaven' and use of images in worship.. .
