  here's a reminder that cult free radio airs tomorrow, saturday, june 25, at 10pm.. there will be two discussion topics.

  first will be the toes of the image of daniel chapter 2 - the history of the borg's doctrine and the "new light" at this summer's district conventions.

  then we will discuss protesting at district conventions of jehovah's witnesses with a special guest who has done a bit of protesting himself.

  its amazing how things seemed logical when you heard them.

  consider the case of eve.

  we always here how truly terrible a sin (most likely the unforgivable sin) because she was perfect and given one command.

  The idea that if Eve and/or Adam had 'passed' the test, we'd all be alive in paradise is a fantasy. It would have been inevitable that someone along the line would have exercised their free will and challenged God's authority. Even if the issue was raised at a later date, it would have been no less valid than had Eve, and God would have known this. In other words, it would seem God created us to fail.

  Why does the Society accept Christendom's "original" Bible canon?

  greetings to those who may know.. i'm reading about the various councils convened in the fourth century a.d. to determine the bible canon.

  if my understanding is correct, constantine was initially in charge, some 24 councils finally got it figured out (hardly) and there were fights over what was in and what was out.

  over 200 so-called gospels were considered and four accepted.

  @allelsefails: So when Isaiah 9:6 calls the Messiah the ETERNAL Father, Isaiah was just kind of joking around about that, right?

  Or how about Heb 13:8: "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, and forever." Sounds pretty eternal to me.

  How about Heb 7:3: "In being fatherless, motherless, without genealogy, having neither a beginning of days nor an end of life, but having been made like the Son of God, he remains a priest perpetually."

  Nahhh, who am I kidding? Those scriptures don't sound like eternal anything.
