I lost my Dad at the start of this year. A couple of months later I bump into a close friend who has known Dad for many years.
This guy was stoked that he was getting married and mentioned how it was a shame Dad wasn't around for the wedding.
Yesterday I called in to see him and he told me something that had happened to him.
He was talking to his sister, who lives in another town, and she is active in some spiritual group. She said she had never met Jack, my Dad, but that she has been talking to him and that he had a message he wanted given to this friend, her brother.
Dad wanted him to get out of this relationship fast.
He never took it seriously and carried on as usual.
Not long after that, this fiancee of his smashed up his 4x4, was on a restricted drivers licence and spent the money he gave her for his hire purchases.
So, his truck is wrecked, he can't claim insurance to get it repaired, he still has to pay it off, a lot of his possessions have been repo-ed and that basically he is in sh*t street without a shovel.
Do you think it was a message from my Dad ??
I have had other unusual coincidences happen since his death, but after yesterday just thought I would ask what others think.

Very thought provoking.
I too have started what I feel is late in having a family.
But as a result I feel I have changed for the good.
We've had c/o's who have been family men, and they were more appealing and had qualities that were endearing, others who were childress were indeed hardliners.

Df'd notifying elders of no return?
by detective inquestion: my friend who is df'd wishes to tell the elders that he won't be applying for re-instatement.
my friend only recently decided he doesn't want back in and isn't really "out" emotionally yet.
do elders really pay attention to df'd ones disappearing?

I have been out for 7 years and not once have the elders called to inquire if I want to return.
They know where I am, but haven't called.
Does that mean I am BAD ?? Or does it reflect the sentiment of the body here in my hometown ??
In my time I felt the need to seek out these dear sheep to see if they wanted to return to the flock.
Obviously, they don't want me back.
Their loss hahahaha.

Purging Apartment
by Elsewhere inwell, this is it... i'm moving out of my apartment this weekend.
i've got a friend (one of those evil atheists) who generously offered to put me up until i find a job.. i started purging my apartment so my move will be easier.
it is amazing how much junk collects over time.

You got that right.
I have moved 3 times in the last 3 years and instead of biffing out the rubbish, I bag it and take it with me.
As a result my house keeps getting smaller.
I've had one attempt to clear the spare room and still have bags of junk in there.

Do your parents still talk to you?
by scootergirl injust curious if your parents still have contact with you after you have been df'd/da'd.
mine have stood by w/strong convictions not to have contact w/me.
they have to have some being that i have kids that they want to see (but that is very minimal).

When I was fresh out of the borg, my JW family backed right off, and I in turn felt that this was the right thing to do and backed off them as well.
But, as time went on I was the one that changed and was in their faces.
My mother has been Df twice and was given the true dub treatment by us kids.
She has developed her own balance on the matter altho it's screwed up at times.
Since my departure my sister Da'd and my brother and other sister are inactive. In mom's eyes we are all out of the "troof", but she maintains and continues contact despite the lifestyles we now have.
An interesting conversation came up between her and my partner's JW uncle & aunt.
The aunt question mom about whether she should have contact with me and my family.
Her response was that the grandchildren aren't Df and shouldn't be shunned, in fact she feels justified in keeping contact with all her kids so that we know the door is always open for any of us to return to the fold.
My mother has her funny ways about things and does not go with the hardline borg mentality on it.
She knows of an elder's wife who regrets shunning her Df son who killed himself many years ago.

PICTURES- of my new nephews, TWINS!

twins they were.....though i cannot tell you at the moment if identical or fraternal.. best part is every one came home ok and in great health.. they were 3 weeks early, and weighted about 5.5 lbs.. names are mexican????
i think.... unai, and esai.. (don't quote me on the names, i am really bad with that stuff!).
