  I got an e-mail for a long-lost dub friend

  there is this woman i used to correspond with back in my dub days but lost contact with several years ago.

  anyway just the other day she sent me an e-mail out of the blue.. she wanted to know if i was "in" or "out" as she was planning a trip to australia and if i was still "in" possibly we could meet (obviously i would have to travel to oz).

  she had heard i wasn't going to the meetings any more.. i replied that i was definitely not "in" any longer but that i wasn't da'd or df'd and if she wanted to read my story i provided her a link to my story on this site.

  How are ya doing Bud ??

  It is such a shame that everything is sooo conditional. When are you passing thru my neck of the woods ?? Let me know when you want to visit, would love to see you.

  The true quality of love can be seen in "special" dubs. My neighbour is exJW as well and his JW mother called in to see him. Larry was with me and knows them and yelled out hello etc..

  Now your normal mind controlled bot would ignore you, but she leaned over the fence and said hello and saw me and also greeted me, then saw my baby sitting on a blanket and cooed over her. Why... because of a true sense of love, not the bs shovelled down their throats at the meeting, but a love from the heart.

  We gotta catch up bro...

  I got my tree yesterday, I guess I got what I paid for, (it was free) but being my first tree it was a thrill to set it up etc..

  Being a JW has made me bitter

  over the last year after leaving the organization, i have done much research and read many books on the topic of jw's.

  i have found peace in the fact that i truely believe that it is a false religion and that i want nothing to do with it ever again.

  my problem is that i have been through, like most of you alot of emotions such as fear, anger, stupidity, (that i could allow myself to get involved so deeply in something), and many other feelings too.

  I know how you feel. I was full of bitterness and anger for many years.

  I was Df in 1995 and altho I vowed never to return I was still trapped to thinking it was the truth.

  With the way they handled my judicial I was certain I would never go back for more. I despised the org, not the people as my family were still caught up in it. I love my family just not the religion they were in.

  For me this was a process that took a number of years. After reading CoC I finally had substance to my thoughts on the church. This helped me to let go of my anger and bitterness. I also found that visiting this site helped see that I wasn't the only one to be treated like sh*t.

  I have a Df friend who also went thru years of trying to adjust and let go.

  I guess it's like a scab really, some people will heal faster than others.

  Birthday Today!

  posted this in jw news and events but meant to post it here.. please read and give your comments.

  i have been on this new job for the past 10 months and when i went there i was still a loyal jw and told them i did not celebrate holidays and birthdays.

  being a wt slave for the past 27 years just recently (4/5 months) took off the physical chains but still have the mental shackles on to a degree.

  Happy Birthday livingagain,

  I hope you have a good day. I am slowly getting into the groove of celebrating birthdays, more so for my children as I never had any as a child. I enjoy each year that I have as it was not long after my 30th that I was df. For me that's the real celebration.

  What does Jehovah think of psychic ability

  i was wondering if anyone knows where psychic ability comes from and why i can feel when there are evil spirits in certain places!

  You know I often wonder about things like that myself. In view of the JW bs teaching, it is not something they approve of. Since my departure from their ways I have been able to learn & listen to such people who have experienced this 6th sense so to speak.

  Where does it come from, how do you know such things ?? My friend could find water with a stick, is that spirit directed or demonism ??

  His simple explanation to me was that he could sense, or was tuned to be able to do that. In like manner he is also able to sense spirits, either good or bad.

  He credits his gift to god and I accept that.

  last time i set foot in a kingdom hall was in december 2001. it was sunday morning and i sat in the back as usual.

  a handfull in the congregation greated me when i came in.

  since it was the watchtower study, i needed a watchtower magazine to follow, but nobody had a copy for me.

  Yep, I was shocked at the low quality of the books. Obviously their money is more important than their publications. I have been out 7 years and so to see what they get now is a joke !!

  Obviuosly their generous God has started tightening his purse strings.

  i joined this site last week hoping to meet people that would steer me back to the organization.

  instead the people i have talked to her are all trying to tell me too see the light and get out of the organization.

  in my opinion, not that it matters, i really think that if a person had the truth deeply ingrained in them, they would never leave the truth.

  Why are you a student ?? Shouldn't you be putting first the kingdumb ?? Shouldn't you be busy preaching to all your Kenyan buddies instead of pointing the finger at those of us who are free from that cr*p ??

  I'm with Buster, you smell man, bigtime.

  Go back to Kenya, stop taking advantage of what the world provides, get to the meeting and let your Jehoover provide.

  DIARY OF A SNOW SHOVELER

  to all who live where there's snow, i think you'll appreciate this.............. diary of a snow shoveler .

  december 8: it started to snow.

  the first snow of the season and the wife and i took our cocktails and sat for hours by the window watching the huge, soft flakes drift down from heaven.

  We don't have snow here where i live in the winter. Twice in my lifetime it has snowed here, I can relate to that dude, I would be thinking the same at the start.

  Beck, your tree is wonderful, did you sing christmas carols as you were decorating it ?? Did you have your kiddies all around the tree helping you ?? I hope you cleaned your chimmney for Santa to slide down easily with his truckload of pressies for you all. A spider... eeeeek, you can have that place man !!

  This year will be my first time putting up a tree, I have already started getting the decorations etc... I spoke to my neighbour who works in the forest, and he has selected a really nice tree that he will put in the back of his truck for me this week... yay and I don't have to pay for it. I just hope Santa doesn't dock me for helping myself hehehe.

  I am really looking forward to this christmas as my baby will be 2 1/2 and she will really enjoy the whole experience. I have been learning some groovey christmas songs so that while we wait for our meal, I can sit with the families and play the guitar and sing some carols with them.
