What do you do for work and play?

im just wondering what kind of work people who post here do.

i believe amazing is a mechanical engineer (like me), xena is an office manager and you know washes windows.

and when youre not working, what does everyone do with their free time now that they dont have to knock on doors when the weekend rolls around.

I'm a number cruncher for a group of companies, but also I do their graphic design work and almost anything else I can learn.

All the office staff for the 5 companies come to me and I sort out any bookwork that isn't right. Mind numbing work when I would rather be at home with my family.

So for my leisure I spend time with my girls and play the guitar, always trying to learn a new song or write if my mind is able.

Love going to rugby to watch my bro-in-law play, tearing up and down the sideline screaming and yelling, so much fun. I somehow amuse the other parents as well.

as the borg hammered us into thinking that anyone who had contact with the dead were in fact speaking to the demons, however, now we know that a lot of their teachings are full of sh*t.. i lost my dad at the start of this year.

a couple of months later i bump into a close friend who has known dad for many years.. this guy was stoked that he was getting married and mentioned how it was a shame dad wasn't around for the wedding.. yesterday i called in to see him and he told me something that had happened to him.. he was talking to his sister, who lives in another town, and she is active in some spiritual group.

she said she had never met jack, my dad, but that she has been talking to him and that he had a message he wanted given to this friend, her brother.. dad wanted him to get out of this relationship fast.. he never took it seriously and carried on as usual.. not long after that, this fiancee of his smashed up his 4x4, was on a restricted drivers licence and spent the money he gave her for his hire purchases.. so, his truck is wrecked, he can't claim insurance to get it repaired, he still has to pay it off, a lot of his possessions have been repo-ed and that basically he is in sh*t street without a shovel.. do you think it was a message from my dad ??.

Being in the thick of it so to speak, I wanted to throw this out there and see what other ex-borg drones think.
Having another perspective helps.
I am firm in what I think and feel, it's just getting over the sh*t still in my head from the borg.

Talking to the dead

Beck,
At the moment I don't think Dad has a message for me. I keep him alive in my mind and heart all the time.
I think if he were to contact me he would know how to do it as over the past months I have had people comment to me that they sense he is with me.
There was nothing left unsaid between Dad and I, he knew how much I loved and cared for him and likewise.
Being with him during his final hours, and singing him to sleep has shown how we felt about each other.
I miss him dearly and at times have a few tears well up, but I know he is in a much better place.

Thanks for your thoughts.
After years of borg mentality it has been difficult to open my mind to such a conflicting idea.
Mulan, for something to happen our of the blue at the same time you called out to her is uncanny, as as it's personal to you, it means something. I feel the same with other things that have happened.
willy, I dunno about that, this woman had never met Dad, nvere knew he was a friend of her brothers, yet she mentioned Dad's name, how does that work ??
Quotes, I'm with Mulan on that one, I was told also that if I wanted to see Dad to ask and he will appear in my sleep.
DoubleE, I can relate to how your Mom felt that what she was picking up from your Dad was special and personal. I mean, I don't actively talk about my Dad has been or visited, but when things happen, I just smile and feel deep down inside he is checking on me.
