by oppostate inat today's special assembly in natick ma, bro brown payne annouced to the audience that serena williams was disciplined by her local elders for her swearing escapade on tv.. saying: "can jehovah's witnesses swear like that on tv?
" then he told the audience that she was "disciplined" by the elders of the congregation she's a publisher in.. doesn't this smack of revealing the private business of another person?
the most the local elders could have said was "a matter concerning serena williams has been handled by the elder body".

it went further to mention that we wouldn't want to question the motives of a sister who was appointed in the congregation as a pioneer.
there was even a picture to add emphasis.. who on earth questions that?

Who on earth questions that? Usually the comments made behind someone's back are:
Why is that sister working full-time?
Why doesn't that sister pioneer?
Why doesn't that sister's husband retire already? Aren't their children moved out?
Why would that sister seek higher education?
Why does that sister dress like a slut?
I guess our tongues find these questions acceptable.

Telling family about "new light"
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inokay, now it's my turn to start a thread about the gb/fds "new light" now that it's been well covered by many threads.
i've noticed that a few have brought this subject up with dub family who accepted wt "new light" without objection, saying that it "made sense" for the fds to only be the gb.
so i have an idea of how to bring this up with my family in such a way that will highlight that this doesn't make sense... at all.. and the timing of this whole thing is incredibly convenient for me since it wasn't that long ago that this came up with my parents and i said that the wt interpretation of the fds in matthew was out-of-context and flawed.

A two tier anointed system has just been carved in stone, but has been suspected for many years.
I too have been discussing with my relatives these changes and thoughts. I think that this will start some more announcements and changes in the ORG in the near future.
I have enjoyed all of the comments on this thread, and especially Leo's summary of the changes.

The channel to recieve announcements, and communitions comes in this order:
1st = You read about it on this site.
2nd = Somebody, with guts but in a discreet way announces something new, but he/she is afraid to announce their sources.
3rd = The Society either sends a letter, or publishes the communication through the channell - A.O, CO's, Elders (spouses of Elders find out next), then you get to read it in black and white somewhere.

Who is the F and D Slave that the Lord will appoint over His belongings? So Jesus leaves and comes back during the GT.
This clashes with the idea/teaching that Jesus is head of the Congregation. How could he serve as head during the apparent last days, and at the same time leave it upto the FDS?
Are we to believe that we are left alone to be managed by an earthly small group of men until Jesus comes back to promote them? What if they fail?
Will these men use the upcoming years to unravel mistakes that have been made and blame it on some evil slave ideas that we poor domestics have fallen victim to? What is to become of this new thought?
