I really think that we are going to get some new understanding on the meaning of Babylon the Great at some future Annual Meeting where all the new points seem to be announced these days. It may come within the next five years when the matter remains silent and dormant until then.

Whatever happened to the "Fall of Babylon the Great" and the "drying up of the churches?
by villagegirl ini am from the era of the babylon book, and all the wt predictions that the churches of christendom would "dry up".
the book babylone the great has fallen god's kingdom rules, said people would leave the churches of christendom, in droves and the ministers would have no more people in their churches while "god's organization" would see a tremendous increase, a huge overflowing great crowd, all streaming into the watchtower and coming to the "faithful and discreet slave" for instructions.
thirty years ago there were six million jw's , today after the "great increase", and " great crowd" is now ?

Our suspicious nature is ingrained in our minds during our childhood. Young children are trained early on how to operate a flashlight. Flashlights can be purchased so cheap at each Canadian Tire Store, so each family member has at least two of them. We usually master the art of using a flashlight with practicing with our cats as they chase the light beam. This is also a popular Canadian sport. The SPCA is not happy with us and are trying to ban this sport in our country.

Making the congregations pay for invitation printing
by Rattigan350 inthe memorial and district convention invitations have a space for each congregtion to put their local information on them.. the congregations then have to foot the bill, many times it is the service overseer personally, for the printing on them.. some print labels and the congregation puts them on, others print with their laser printer and wear them out.. at first the paper was so poor that the particles would destroy laster printers and make a dust storm.
commercial printers hated that paper.. the society should have a variable data printing system since they know the times of the memorial and convention for each congregation and they should print that while they print the initial invitation.. think if it, 12,000 congregations in the usa multipled by $50 on average cost to print or label each congregation's amounts to $600,000.
do that twice a year for 7 years and that is $8.4 million dollars.

I usually use my Iphone to update my calendar, on upcoming announcements from the platform. I know that others probably think I'm texting, but I don't give a dam.

I'm baffled over the conflict of Lev 18, and the rationale used in the Creator Book in saying it's ok in one instance, but explains is ok in the other.
The was a good finding, should I call it a blooper that has been uncovered in our explainations.

Not just elevators - hotel rooms are unsafe
by Jim_TX innot sure if the title is a good one or not... i didn't want to add to the elevator thread, since it seems to have gone sideways.. i was mulling over the elevator 'dangers' and a long faded memory sprang back from the dusty corners of my mind.. years ago, when i was yound, single, dumb, and still a good lil' jw, there was a circuit assembly held here locally.
there was a time when the colliseum was used, but due to its' small size, they booked it for two weekends in a row, and brought in people from two or three (or more) different circuits, spaced across those two weekends.. i had gotten acquainted with a nice young gal named rhonda w. she and her friends shannon f. and cindy attended the first assembly where they worked as telephone operators.
yes, some brother had a complete telephone switchboard that he put in the basement and i helped run telephone wires to all of the departments.

Two Witnesses stuck in a elevator or car without Chaperon. Would they fornicate? Yes/No
by Witness 007 inim amazed how going witnessing sisters who knew me for decades would sit only in the back seat on the way to the hall...to avoid any sex at the traffic lights!!!
and chaperons 1840's style are needed because two witnesses alone for 10 minutes would go at it like animals even after all the training watchtower articles and talks being jahs clean org.

Well I would have to say that some are real Horndogs, and some can behave like a responsible adult when they are alone with a member of the oposite sex. I have always worked alone and gone on working trips with members of the opposite sex. The idea of having sex with such ones has never come to mind. I'm speaking of over 25 yrs experience.
