i have it from 1st hand (or second) that a circuit overseer who gave a talk at twickenham in august 2013 has been disfellowshipped.. .

my dilemma?

Well, announcing his name before a congregation as DF is a beginning of what is wrong with this DFing business. When a person is fired, they simply say he/she doesn't work here anymore. Eventually it becomes public knowledge.

Through the grapevine this news will become available.

Like some posters have already said, "Many CO's, and DO's Branch workers have been there". Should we create a list of their names, too? PM is probably more discreet, and private, but, it is a form of gossip.

We shouldn't make ourselves look just as bad as the JW flaws

well, it's official.

the mayor of the city of toronto has admitted that he has smoked crack cocaine.

a video existed, but was never released.

Well, it's official. The Mayor of the city of Toronto has admitted that he has smoked Crack Cocaine. A video existed, but was never released.

But, even tho he has admitted to doing this during his reign, he still won't resign, and they can't remove him.

Kind of reminds me of the rule of Satan on this earth. His reign has to run it's course, and we have to endure it.

Request stories on JW mental health issues

i am just curious as to how much of a problem mental illness is among jws.

i would like to hear what others have to say regarding their own experiences in this matter.

specifically, i want to know how these individuals were handled in the congregation and whether or not being a jw contributed to the effects on mental illness.. .

In a nearby congregation in my city, half of the members are on Prozac, and the other half should be.

"It's about time." "It's about time". Those were the words uttered by the conventioneers. Why did they say it?

It was all about the introduction of the Theocratic Min School.

It was announced that sisters could now participate in some instructional capacity in the congregation. Prior to then sisters had no teaching opportunities in the congregations.

Now years have passed, and nobody has ever graduated from that school.

Joining the TMS is voluntary. But, some Elders make it mandatory. I remember an Elder in our cong that just kept assigning talks to individuals who asked to quit. Rather than argue with him, they just developed a brief sickness the night of their assignment. Yes, many Elder wives have resigned from the school.

You can ask to be not assigned for some time, but, they may or may not try to talk you out of it. They can't do anything to you if you quit. Maybe a special needs part. Don't wory, you won't be the only one sweating in the audience.

why did the watchtower downplay homosexual sex acts preventing a innocent spouse from remarrying?

there are groups through various countries who don't believe homosexual sex is "fornication" and men are allowed to keep their wives and men can go on "the down low" possibly infecting women with h.i.v., why did it take decades for the watchtower to say homosexual acts are grounds for a divorce?

the watchtower's teachings are the most unstable of all the fringe religious groups in america, they can't get things right that christendom knew about for thousands of years (almost two thousands to the critics), so why follow a group who can't read the bible?.

Back then the WT had a different view of what adultery was. They assumed that it was sex between the two genders, and homosexuality didn't count.

Nowadays, the WT society has broadened their view on what adultery is

Letting go of Highly Qualified Men

i have been posting for a few months now and have read the life stories of tech49, confusedandalone, winston smith and other brothers who have held prominent positions in the organization who were dismissed not for any gross sins, but mainly for not keeping their child toeing the line.

they have been "cast aside", nit picked to death, and made to feel unworthy for their years of dedicated service.

even in my case, having my best friends treat me like the plague to jockey for position of recogntion.. is this what the organization is resorting to now?

Yes, an Elder's family must be exemplary. That is written somewhere in the publications. The scriptures also speak about the condition of the Elder's family. However, that being said I find that there are two standards.

One for the Elder whose family is in the teachings, and another for the Elder of the Unbelieving wife.

No one cares about the example of the family of the Elder's unbelieving mate. He is just simply left alone.

But, the Elder who has a challenge with some of his believing children, this is shocking. "Throw that man out". "Let him learn to qualify, again, after some time has passed" After some considerable time those unruly kids will be embarassed, or moved out because of what they have caused. Perhapps those rebellious kids will have feelings of guilt. A great punishment for kids that didn't quite have the maturity, and were trying to figure out life at such an early age.

I beleve that there exists a reason for Elders to step down based on family circumstances, but, I don't think that it should be done in a Wicth Hunt mentality.
