  Announcement to print from JW.ORG in service meeting

  yes, you read that correctly.

  last night during the service meeting, the cobe gave an announcement that we should start printing or using jw.org for any special literature such as the daily text, the yearly calendar, etc... he also mentioned to please cancel any orders of the wt and awake on cds because no one is picking them up and they are piling up.. .

  my question is, where did this elder get this info from?

  hello.. ken little is the canadian branch overseer.

  i have met him once (across the lunch table at a circuit assembly).

  my immediate reaction was that he is a complete company man, and fulfills his name perfectly.. i should like to know a little (har har) more about him, his background, business dealings, watchtower career, personality.

  I always had a pleasant experience with Ken. I would imagine that he is a company man. The recent WT that we are currently studying has his experience.

  second malaysian plane down

  not that this is directly wt related.. images from the crash area indivate that the plane was burning as it crashed.

  light debris was falling out of the smoke trail before the impact and other images show two distinct smoke plumes, one on approach the other after the impact.

  this was not a vertical dive.. one of the theories about the first malaysian plane dissappearance is an incident with dangerous cargo catching fire.. 2 planes of the same airlime?

  District Convention

  don't know if this has been covered before, but who noticed that at every talk at the district convention (mine anyway), every speaker was introduced by name and then 'brother x has been serving for 25 years as a pioneer" or "he has served on the branch committee" etc etc.. what is it with these credentials?

  i've been an elder on and off for most of the last twenty years.

  big deal.

  Speculation: Female Ministerial Servants coming soon

  ive no source for this, just personal speculation.. * there is a good case to be made that there were female deacons (ministerial servants) in the bible.. * there is a lack of qualified brothers for basic assignments such as microphones, accounts, literature.

  in some cases, elders have had to do double duty because of a lack of ministerial servants or qualified brothers.. * women outnumber men in the organization.. * there is supposedly a surprising change coming "down the pipe".. perhaps the only difference between male and female ministerial servants is that women will still not be allowed to teach..

  Aw c'mon Alpha man. It doesn't take much to make the guys look bad. What is badly needed is to bring up the morale. There are more women than guys in this faith. What do we expect all of these single sisters to do with their time. They need to fill needed, and to fit in. Give them a microphone to pass around. Let them hand out some books, brochures, and magazines. They can open that big Territory Binder and pencil in a date. They can wink at the newcomers as they invite them into the KH. But, most of all, they can start the service Meetting with a few local annnouncements and end it on time. It is long overdue.

  I know 2 of the Elders on the Ray Franz JC

  when i read coc, i was stunned that the 2 elders (theotis french & rob dibble) were on ray franz judcial committee.

  i have known these men for over 20 years having done rbc and convention work with them.

  they are still elders today which means they were in their early 30's(which is unheard of for a case of this importance to have inexperienced elders to sit on) on this committee.. without revealing myself, i have never tried(but have wanted to), ask them about their on having to judge a former gb member.. then out of the blue, about a year ago, i was mentioning how hard it is trying to get younger ones to volunteer to one of these elders, and he says"this is nothing compared to to sitting on the committee that had to disfellowship ray franz".

  the following video sums up why i not only reject theism but oppose it.... if you worship a god who hears your prayers please invest 6 minutes to listen and ask yourself how you would respond.

  then ask yourself whether your answer requires the same special pleading and double-think we used to indulge in to defend our jw beliefs.....

  I'm not sure why God doesn't cure amputees. But, lately Medical Science has made quite the breakthrough on this. Some believe that cloning is the way to replace a lost limb. There are also some great orthotics. But, nothing can replace a authentic human part. The WT answer of course is wait for the Kingdom, and that will be the answer to your prayers. In the meantime we get old and die, people starve, war breaks out, desease, etc. It's hard to be positive when you dwell on such negatives. Sometimes people develope a chip on their shoulders and look to blame God for this mess.
