  Single Sisters

  am i the only one who has single, desperate sisters in the congregation?

  they tend to be holier-than-thou, frumpty, but in private talk about getting married.

  but they don't understand why no brother will look at them.

  Got quite a chuckle on this thread. I can relate since we have our share of older frumpy looking sisters in our cong, too. Mind you not all older single sisters are frumpy, Some are from broken marriages, widows, other circumstances. They remain single because of the available single frumpy, smelly men in the cong.

  my wife has a friend at her kh.

  she is 37 and her friend is 88. i know it sounds kind of strange but they are both the wives of ubm so they kind of stick together.

  my wife is very sincere in this friendship and this lady is a nice person.

  You're in Hotel California. You can check in but you can never leave. If they aren't deleting you for being complacent, then accept the comfort zone you've created for yourself. It's just a matter of time before a new CO will come along and be a pr*ck and delete you.

  I'm easily led by any organization that allows me to drink coffee with female companions. The Mormons cast me out just for that reason.

  The Confederate Flag

  the latest controversy over the confederate flag just sums up to me the state of dysfunction that exists in american society.. in summary: a white supremacist nutter shoots 9 black people dead in a church.

  he's clearly inspired by the messages of others which the confederate flag is often a symbol of.. it seems like a no-brainer to remove it.

  not only isn't it removed, it isn't even lowered at all as a mark of respect.. and of course now there are the people who want to defend their right to have it.

  I saw reference to this in the morning news. This picture of the suspect burning the American flag while showing a reverance to the Confederate flag is really disturbing.

  Well, you're right, not when an accident occurs, because an accident is out of control. But, if you are Texting, talking on the cell phone, having sex in the vehicle, drinking and driving, there will be consequences.

  Wives who complain about their husbands work schedule but refuse to get a job

  i listen to one of these all time in our hall.

  she brings it up constantly about how they would do this or that but he has to work that saturday.

  i think she should get a job and then he could find a lower paying 9 to 5 job..

  I knew many wives that complained that their husbands worked too much, and they didn't offer to work prt ttime to lessen the financial burden. It's a challenge to make ends meet today. I was fortunate that I had a great job that didn't make me work on weekends. I'm thankful that the cong and my wife saw the advantages of both spouses working. The poor wives that complained all their lives have had to force themselves to work because their husbands have burned out, and the retirement income doesn't make ends meet. I only remember 1 CO that complained about the wives working. His wife eventually had a nervous breakdown and they had to cancel the CO work. Both of them are working, now
