Russian Ban upheld - JWs lose appeal
by OrphanCrow inthe supreme court of russia has rejected the jehovah's witnesses' appeal.. https://jw-russia.org/news/17071719-195.html.
july 17, 2017 the supreme court of russia has missed the last chance to restore law and justice for the 175,000 russian citizens professing the religion of jehovah's witnesses.
it took less than an hour of the meeting a panel of three supreme court judges, to leave unchanged the decision taken earlier by the judge yuri ivanenko, the liquidation and ban any and all registered organizations of the religion.since there is no more effective domestic remedies, the believers will appeal to the european court of human rights and other international organizations.. *note: as reported by the jworg source, jw-russia.org.

If a person is transgender and gets saved what will they go to heaven as?
by Nikorasu95 ini know this is a stupid question because the answer is obvious, but if a person was born a male and gets transgender surgery to turn into female will that person go to heaven as a male or female if they died saved?
i think they will go to heaven with the gender they were born with.

Walking The Line
by millie210 ina recent comment in another thread inspired this one.. the comment concerned a family who owned a bakery and got counsel on the icing and cake decorations.. the cakes reflected the theme of worldly holidays of that time.. the family was told to sell the bakery.. then, we have the case of jalessa castillo, a young u.s. journalist who happens to also be a pioneer in a congregation.
she was covering religious topics (among other topics) and it seems that got stopped?.
at least when you look online now it is very hard to find her name in the byline of anything religious in nature.

I know some JW Business people who find religious requests to be a challenge. If the person is an employee, they don't do the religious requests i.e. birthdays, holidays, etc. They usually are respected. If the person is an owner, they just tell the customers that they don't offer that service. They are well liked in the community and they don't seem to have any problems.
I remember years ago when a brother owned a Video rental store and pressure came down on him regarding the rental of R rated content. He never had any privilleges in the cong because of that

Greed and the Russian Problem
by no-zombie inby now all of us are aware of the moves in russia to ban the organization and the frantic letter writing campaign started by the governing body.. however, what i thought was interesting and perhaps not already mentioned, is the fact that governing body themselves may have actually created this very situation.
due of their personal greed to seize the brotherhood's saved congregational accounts and the ownership of the publisher funded kingdom halls through the centralizing of those assets into the watchtower corporation (which i'm sure has taken place in russia too), the ability for putin to take the lot has only been made it easier.
however if the governing body had left the ownership of the halls at the local level, i expect that the best the russian government could do would be to have them closed and then start the much longer court process of taking them one by one.. and if anyone has any delusions in thinking that a ton of letters will in some way convince putin to change his mind; think again.

Postage to Russia only cost's $1.30 per letter. I support freedom of worship for everyone. This really is a sad thing to see happening.

How does the Preaching Work get done Under a Ban?
by Quarterback inthe year book tells us that some activity in fs is being performed in countries that are banned, is this accurate?
how on earth is it accomplished?
do anyone have any experience?.

This is interesting. I think that it would be more enjoyable to be in informal clothing. Just talk about current events at a mall. No pressures from a CO telling you to do more House to House, Return Visits and Bible Studies.
But, somehow I think in our country they would probably want us to get up at 4 am and distribute tracks about how our religious freedoms are violated.
