That's right Lisa. We have come along way.
We husbands used to have multiple wives, too, but now women have become expensive.

this made me think, we hear so much about "traditional marriage" and living according to the morals in the bible, but marriage in the bible was quite different from what is practiced today.

to answer my question, no i do not pray over meals anymore exept for when i am with other jws i do a 15 second head bow for appearances sake.
i just came to the realization god had nothing to do with whether i ate or not.
many believers are starving right now whilst many non-believers are eating like kings.. also why should god give me food while he lets little children in dprk concentration camps starve to death.
Faith and prawer go together. If you don't beleive in that form of communication with the Creator of food then prayer is a waste of time.
I pray, but not before every meal. I don't pray in public, but in privacy. I appreciate the beauty, and the ability of our planet to sustain all forms of life, and I beleive in a Creator who has made this possible.
That's just my personal comments
law school is obviously not the hardest program to follow.
it isn't something that can be replicated on the internet.
a first year student can find the law.
Sometimes I get burned out from this site. However, I do appreciate the updates and some topics. Some times a time out is what is needed.
I have appreciated your legal insights to some of these, and hope that you come back.

jude 1:9 shows that michael didn't dare rebuke satan.
if jesus is michael, then why would he be afraid to do so?
in matthew and mark it clearly shows that the demons were afraid of jesus..
It doesn't seem to me that this restraint was based out of fear. It sounds more of a respect thing

Well done, Blondie.
Now and then, and it seems to be alot lately, the need for money has been hinted so many times. I seriously beleive that in the next few years there is going to be a mandatory monetary requirement.
has anyone seen the accommodation that the current governing body gets?.
we have photos of the type normal bethelites receive, but i was curious about the upper echelon..
What they lack in accomodations, they make up for in their transportation
recently, a public speaker brought up this point that i remembered being preached in the 70's.
when they bring this matter up, they always manage to give you an experience of how one person stood his ground, and got a great job offer, as a result.. what about the many experiences of ones that were not blessed?
i can memtion horror stories of ones that should have kept working their meetings..
Good comments, friends
I had a friend that had a good paying job, working the midnight shift, and he was proud that he could provide well for his wife that was pioneering. Then the company had a shift in hrs and he had to now work the evening shift. That would involve missing the Book study, and TMS/Service meeting. He quit his job with good med benefits, and had to move to a basement appt inorder to continue to provide for his wife on one income. His life was miserable after that. No blessings no happiness, died at a very young too.

back in 1985 my then-wife and i were having a lunchtime "gathering" at our place to show some support to the ones in our congregation who were full-time pioneers.
i had just recently received the vinyl collection of the songs featured in the song book "sing praises to jehovah" which had been released the previous year.. .
many of these melodies sounded depressing to me although i would have never admitted it at the time.
