  You may recall that in the past, a number of people were involved in growing tobacco or

  selling tobacco products, training others in warfare, or producing and selling weapons

  of war. After coming to a knowledge of the truth, most chose to change their employment

  and qualify for baptism

  11 Andrew is an example. When he and his wife learned about Jehovah, they resolved

  to serve him. Andrew took much pride in his job but left it. Why? Because he was working

  for a nonneutral organization and was determined to put first God's righteousness.

  When Andrew left that job, he had two children, no income, and enough money to last just a few months.

  From a human standpoint, it may have seemed that he had no 'inheritance.'

  He searched for a job, trusting in God. Looking back, he and his family can confirm that

  Jehovah's hand is not short. (Isa. 59:1) By keeping their life simple, Andrew and his wife

  have even had the privilege of being in full-time service. "There have been times when finances,

  housing, health, and just growing older have made us anxious," he says. "But Jehovah

  has always stood by us. . . . We can say without a hint of doubt that serving Jehovah

  is, without question, the most noble and rewarding human endeavor."_-Eccl. 12:13.

  This one is another real hoot. Is it truly a mature and wise thing to not plan ahead a tiny bit more. And how does this worldly man, have only enough money to last just a few months

  "When Andrew left that job, he had two children, no income, and enough money to last just a few months."

  He must have been quite incompetent even as a worldly fella. And notice how they felt anxious sometimes.

  "There have been times when finances, housing, health, and just growing older

  have made us anxious,"

  I thought there was no need for feeling anxious with Jah on your side.

  I am going to copy and paste the actual story from the awake and see if you think this blurb is even a good representation of the actual story.

  Does the WTBS still push private Bible reading as much as 10-20 yrs ago?

  friday at 4pm pacific is probably not the best time for this.

  but what the hell...trying to kill the last hour of work here.. in my years as a dub and before i faded about 8 years ago i recall private bible reading was regularly encouraged by the org.. there was the weekly bible reading schedules to keep up on, remember it being repeated in publications the importance of reading your bible, and then the bethelite stories i heard where you were required to read the entire bible.. so, do they they still stress it as much as they used to?

  they are increasingly placing the governing body as the ultimate authority, squeezing out jehovah and jesus, and stressing that you need the gb's publications to properly understand the bible.. based on that, wouldn't encouraging personal bible reading suggest you can understand it on your own and detract from their brain-numbing publications?.

  There is and always has been a weekly bible reading schedule. Then at the weekly meeting at the hall they can be told what the portion they read means.

  Too much Outlaw?? LOL. I already felt this, but the added comments just show this to be a total bullshit story. I also believe it is totally stupid, and demeaning. "What would you have done? Jean-Claude knew that if he lost his job, God would take care of him." So why bother working for a living. Just trust in Jah and pioneer and he will take care of you and the family. I never ever saw this in real life.

  On a local tv station that I watch the doc that has a daily bit on reveiwing studies discussed that many studies corroborate this "better education - better health" phenomena. Maybe it is why many witlesses cry for the new system because of the sorry state of their lives.
