Tree of Life---Ruby slippers?

what was the tree of life doing in the garden?.

i have only one thought that works for me on this.. has anybody else ever wondered?

The 'tree of life' was the one tree that granted 'everlasting life' to anyone 'eating' from it. That very same 'tree of life' never disappeared, for it is in your midst.

Adam and Jesus were both 'sons of God.' Adam was one 'born in the manner of flesh,' Jesus was his brother, 'born in the manner of spirit.'

When the Father made Adam, he made him without 'spot,' flawless in spirit and thus an "image" of God. The Father laid but ONE command upon Adam to protect the 'life' that the Father created. Although Adam was made 'without spot' Adam did not have the experience that the Father had. As a result, Adam had the ability to cause great harm to himself.

Jah being the kind Father that he is, had every intention of "teaching" his son, to "raise" him so that he WOULD be like Jah, his Father. Jah did not warn him against the vicious beasts of the earth, or the exploding volcanoes. Because none of these could bring him death. Neither could the tornadoes, or hurricanes, or hot lava, or deep oceans. For all these things had no 'hold' on him. There was only one thing that COULD bring about his death, and it was regarding this ONE thing that Jah DID warn him against.

Unfortunately, Adam, due to the abundance of his own "desire" to please himself, he reached out for knowledge that was not his to have, .... yet. The knowledge and experience that God possessed, could be used to do GREAT good, or great bad. Adam did not take the time to recognize this and act wisely. Instead, he went after this "knowledge" and due to his 'inexperience' he brought on sin and death to himself AND all his offspring.

His 'brother' however, the one "born in the manner of spirit," recognized that he did not have the experience and constantly devoted himself to the teaching of his Father. He wanted to know both fully and completely the wisdom of his Father and how he can use such wisdom and experience to help his neighbor, and to glorify his Father. Adam's concern was for Adam. His brother, however, was concerned for everyone else BUT himself. He was the one hating inexperience and loved wisdom and knowledge of his Father.

Due to his great love for both his Father and all the offspring of his disobedient brother, he gave his own life and poured out his own blood, that they too may recieve life. He became the "life" that the offspring of his brother were seeking ("I am the way, and the truth, and the LIFE"). And thus, he IS our TREE OF LIFE. If we "eat his flesh and drink his blood" we will have "life in OURSELVES." (John 6:53)

By means of his spirit blood that he pours out, we too can have "life." For "life is in the blood," everlasting life is in HIS blood. And anyone who recieves this "life," will have EVERLASTING LIFE inside him. Even if his flesh dies, his spirit will continue to live. The reason? "It is the spirit that is life, the flesh is of no use at all." (John 6:63) If we have spirit, holy spirit, that spirit will give LIFE to our spirit, so that our spirit WILL HAVE everlasting life. The flesh can die, but holy spirit sustains our spirit for life, non-stop. We will continue "living" and never die. Thus, "everlasting life."

This is the 'good news' of the kingdom, that "anyone wishing, anyone thirsting" can have EVERLASTING LIFE, free, NOW!

Let him that is wishing "Come!" drink the water of life, free.

and don't worry, it is a discussion about what you must "eat and drink" in order for you to have 'life in yourself' which you would classify as a 'work' in union with faith in the son.... if you indeed have the 'faith' to do it..... still waiting for your response.... aaron

And with all due respect, there is no "pre-Christ." For all the prophets knew about the Christ, the coming One that kept atoning for the sins of both the prophets and Israel whenever they had a vision. But, needless to say you are correct. And with regards to David and Nathan ........ THIS IS WHY JWs TOGETHER WITH THE WORLD GET MISLED, they DON'T READ!

Looking at the account in 2 Samuel if you read 12:1 it says Jah SENT Nathan to David. In addition to that, without David telling Nathan anything, Nathan spoke a parable to David regarding David's error. This in itself proved to be a "message from Jah." Upon hearing the words David basically 'condemned himself.' Once that was MANIFESTED, he immediately repented. This NEVER happens with an elder unless that "elder" heard 'holy spirit speak' as Nathan did.

Also regarding the article:

"Even if a person does not voluntarily confess his sin, he may still be moved repentance when approached by the elders, as David was when approached by Nathan. "

David's repentance was NOT on his heart at the time Nathan came to David. Again THEY DON'T READ. First, if David was already repentant Jah would NOT have sent Nathan to him. In addition to that, looking at the 'parable' it says Jah was going to bring evil upon ALL of David's house and EVERYTHING would be known to the rising of the sun. (2 Sam. 12:11, 12). But almost everything changed when David DID repent, and thus his life was spared. Had David repented earlier, he never would have recieved the entire parable.

So, evidently David NEEDED someone to be sent to him to bring up his error and the following judgement. Because David LISTENED and repented, he was spared. The account does not mention Nathan's help, other than Nathan letting David know his repentance was heard, when he finally repented.

Just another case of the blind leading the blind....

False prophets

hi, i can't remember what scripture it is, but, somewhere it warns of false prophets, there's probably loads of examples.

anyway, jw's are false prophets like the rest of them.

all the predictions for the end of the world never came true.

"Take heed that ye be not led astray: for many shall come in my name, saying, 'I am anointed;' and, 'The time is at
hand:' go ye not after them."

"Anointed" JWs say every Memorial they are 'anointed' and also that "The time is at hand, This is the last days!" Get a bible study and "associate with US."

Indeed, you are correct, for the true servants don't go "door to door" (Luke 10:7) and they offer the free gift of holy spirit to "anyone asking, anyone seeking, anyone thirsting" so that they may drink and have "everlasting life." (John 7:37-39, 4:10, 14; Rev. 22:17).

The 'scapegoat' arrangement.....

However, my Lord says:

"For there is one God, the Father, and ONE mediator between God and men, Christ Jesus, who gave himself a ransom for ALL." (1 Tim. 2:5)

"All those who have come IN PLACE OF ME are thieves and plunderers."

A "mediator" is one who is a "go between." Our Lord is the only one who has been "authorized" to enter the Most Holy in heaven and to "intercede" and "speak" for ALL of Israel. The Father listens to NO ONE but the Son. When the Father speaks, Jesus takes what the Father said, leaves the Most Holy and speaks to us the words God has said. If we want to ask or say something, we tell Jesus and Jesus presents himself before the Father and tells him. Then Jesus "brings back word" from the Father to us. Hence, Jesus is our "mediator" or our "go between."

They are under a curse because they have not kept the laws of the New Covenant. (Daniel 11:30, 32)

Upon reading that scripture, it only says ones have acted "wickedly against the [new] covenant." The DIFFERENCE between the new covenant, and the Law covenant through Moses is: if you break one law under the Law covenant, you are automatically under a curse (Gal. 3:10, Deut. 27:26). The new covenant REMOVED us from the curse and bought to UNdeserved kindness and forgiveness. If we sin (disobey) while under the new covenant, we have a RANSOM to 'cover' us so that there are no 'curses' in the new covenant. Someone who acts wickedly against the new covenant, is simply an enemy or "of the world." (the 'world HATES you) There is NO scripture anywhere that says if you don't keep the laws of the new covenant you are under a 'curse.' But if you are under the old covenant, and you don't keep every law, you are INDEED under a curse.

So, just as 1st century Israel needed a new covenant, so does modern-day Israel. Jesus is spoken of at 1 John 2:1,2 as the 'helper with the Father' in behalf of Israel, so also is the scapegoat in our day.

Again, John 10:8. Jesus is for "ALL of Israel." both 1st. century, pre-1st. century and "modern-day." "Israel" is Israel as far as Jah is concerned. Jah looks at the heart, and if the man inside is Israel, Jah sees him as Israel. (1 Sam. 16:7)

In order for modern-day Israel to be free of their sins, they must accept the scapegoat arrangement. They show this by praying to Jehovah on the basis of this arrangement. When they do this, they show that they recognize that they have lost the privilege of having Jesus as their mediator because of their idolatry and that they are in need of a new mediator and covenant.

Moses said there was going to be a mediator to replace him (not because of Israel's disobedience) in Acts 3:22, 23. When Jesus arrived, he showed he was the one whom all the prophets spoke of. Jesusdid not say there is one that will replace him, but he said:

"Many will come on the basis of my name saying 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many."

"Many will come on the basis of my name saying 'I am he (one who can atone for their sins)' but do not go after them, for false Christs ......"

Jesus left NO ROOM for any other 'arrangement' to replace what he is for ALL of Israel, and his precious blood that cleanses ALL sin.

When the second goat was brought before the dead goat, the first goat, this scapegoat (second goat) was cleansed of its sins and so it could then be used in a sin-atoning way. It now has become 'guiltless.'

Well... upon READING the account, the second goat was NOT brought before the first goat. It was only brought before Jah (Lev. 16:7, 10). The first goat was killed to atone for Israel's sins against the holy place, and the second goat carried all the other rebellions of Israel into the wilderness. Also, this goat was a young goat. This is VERY important. Why? Because young goats are viewed as "unblemished." (Lev. 22:19, 20) Do note, that when presenting an 'offering' it HAD to be young, and without defect, thus 'guiltless.' Otherwise, the animal could not be acceptable as an offering to Jah. Anything that was offered to Jah HAD to be without blemish, guiltless.

In this manner, the scapegoat is able to fulfill the New Covenant and institute a third covenant which all who are Israel will need to abide by. And since you have become an Israelite, you will also have to agree to live by its terms. The New Covenant has now become obsolete.

Did we all forget that "the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep with the blood of an EVERLASTING covenant, our Lord Jesus." (Heb. 13:20) The new covenant is an EVERLASTING covenant, and thus "remains FOR EVER." It CANNOT 'waste away' and become obsolete. It is eternal. The old covenant was not an everlasting covenant, and thus it "wasted away" and became obsolete. To say such occurred with the new covenant would be "De-valuing" both the mediator of the new covenant and the actual covenant. Hence a blasphemy.

"Every sort of blasphemy against the Son will be forgiven you." Please take care, for you are treading on 'dangerous ground.' But you will indeed be forgiven it.

the reason why i take this part of the original thread to the main-forum is, that it brought back to my mind some questions, that i have never been able to answer.

the teaching of 144,000 being the 'only ones' was a false teaching from the Adversary at an attempt to "close the doors" and "shut up the kingdom of HEAVEN before men."

There are WAY more than 144,000 going to heaven. 144,000 were just the number of "Israelites" who were fleshly descendents of Abraham from Jacob that would be "firstfruits" in the kingdom, due to their "obedience" to the good news. Standing before the throne there is a "great multitude" from EVERY tribe, and nation, and people, and tongue. In Revelation 5:9,10 it says these same people from EVERY nation, and tribe, and people, and tongue will be priests of God and will rule as kings upon the earth.

The Door was open to "anyone" thirsting, anyone seeking, anyone asking. For Jah-eshua is he who "opens so that no one shuts, and shuts so that NO ONE opens." The Door is STILL open to anyone who would like to "come in."

okay, now I understand your question..

No.. their flesh would not have died. The reason? Because they were able to go "in and out" of the Garden. Thus, like the angels, they were able to "put off" and "put on" flesh at any time.

The Master told those who had a heavenly inheritance that they may "eat of the tree of life in the Garden of God." That Garden was in the kingdom, in the spirit realm. Of such a Garden Adam and Eve went in and out.

It was after their sin that they no longer had the ability to "put off" their flesh and enter the Garden. Thus they had to stay in their flesh, which eventually decayed and died.

Gen. chapter one, says they were made not only God's "image" but also according to God's "likeness." God's "likeness" was that of a "spirit." Thus, they were of "spirit" also.

In chapter 2 of Genesis it says God "formed the man (which man?) out of dust." God took "the man," which was a spirit, and formed dust to clothe him and breathed into him the "spirit of life." Thus giving him flesh and holy spirit so that his flesh lives also.

After Adam sinned by choosing his "flesh" over his spirit, Jah put him completely IN that flesh and sentenced him the remainder of his days in it. Once that flesh eventually died, his spirit "returned to the true God who gave it" and Jah placed his spirit in a place for Adam to wait until Judgement Day. For "it is appointed for man to die once, and then the judgement." (Heb. 9:28)

Hey Logical,

That is correct. Think about it, the scripture says "death spread to all men, (why?) BECAUSE THEY ALL SINNED."

So it is evident that we die because we sin. So ..... lying is a sin, yes? How does lying "kill our flesh?" Do note "lies" means ALL lying, both innocent and serious.

How about "putting no other Gods before me," does that kill our flesh? If we make our "flesh" our God, worship and take care of it, how does taking care of it "kill it?"

Our flesh is 'corruptible' which means it "decomposes," "rots" or "dies." That which is 'incorruptible' does NOT "die," "decompose" or "rot." If we sin, we WERE automatically 'elgible' for the Lake that burns with fire (had it not been for the ransom). We would go to the Lake of fire and die, BECAUSE WE SINNED IN THE FLESH. But thanks to Christ's ransom, we do not have to die for those sins, because his spirit blood that he pours out, "atones" for such sins.

Now, the only way we would die is by "rejecting" his blood, and him. Rejecting that means of 'atonement' would leave nothing to save us from that firey lake.

"Death reigned as king from Adam down to Moses, even over those who had not sinned after the likeness of the transgression by Adam, who is a 'type' of the one that is to come."

My Lord said,

"It is the spirit that is life: The flesh is of NO USE AT ALL. These sayings of mine are SPIRIT and are LIFE."

Did Adam spread "physical" death to all men. Is it cause we 'sinned' that our flesh dies? If so then Christ would have given us everlasting life in the "flesh." But, if that were true ...... how is it he says,

"Amen, I say to you, If ANYONE observes my word, he will NEVER SEE DEATH AT ALL." (John 8:51)

Many who have observed his word have died in the flesh. Many were even KILLED in the flesh because of "observing his word." How is it that anyone who 'observes his word' will never see death? Remember, he said, "these sayings of mine are SPIRIT and are LIFE." Life is in the spirit. ALL life came from the spirit. The flesh 'lives' because of the SPIRIT inside it. So if his sayings are "spirit," then the 'death' he referred to was "death in the spirit," a.k.a. "the SECOND DEATH."

The 'second death' is what Jah, and his Son consider 'death.' We call "death of the flesh" 'death.' However, they don't see the "flesh," for all spirits know the "flesh is of no use at all." Hence 'death' in the flesh is nothing to him. Death in the spirit is. For man's spirit can go from a "physical body" into a "spiritual body." But if the spirit of man DIES, there is no place for him to go, for he no longer exists. "Death in the flesh" is "sleep." Death in the spirit is true death. "Physical death" is a mere 'copy' of the real death, that occurs in Gehenna.

That is why our Lord said:

"Do not be in fear of those who can kill the body, and after that can do nothing more. Be in fear of him who after killing, has authority to throw you in Gehenna."

My Father said:

"Look! All the souls to me they belong. As the soul of a father, so also the soul of a son, to me they belong. The soul that is sinning is the one that will die."

Adam did not spread "physical death" to all men. Adam spread death in the spirit to all men, because WE ALL SINNED. So why do we "die in the flesh?" We die in the flesh because our flesh is 'corruptible.' Corruptible things wear out and die. Things that are corruptible do not last forever. "Flesh and blood" are esteemed as "corruption." (1 Cor. 15:50)

When our flesh 'dies' or 'corrupts' and decomposes, our spirit (that kept the flesh alive) "returns to the true God who gave it." Jah then places that spirit wherever he wishes. All those spirits are waiting, 'resting' for their Day of Judgement. On Judgement Day, each spirit will be judged and will either get 'life' or 'death.' The true life, or the true death.

If anyone observes Christ's words, he will never see death at all. Why? because he will recieve the promised holy spirit which will grant "everlasting life" to his spirit so that even if his flesh "dies," he will continue living.

Death in the flesh is NOTHING, but 'death in the spirit' which only happens in the Lake that burns ... is SOMETHING. If it weren't for God's Son, we all would get the Judgement to the Lake that burns with fire and thus DIE. But because of the Son of God, we now can have mercy and NOT recieve that judgement, and thus "never see death." Adam spread "death" to ALL men, the judgement to the Lake that burns because all men sinned. But, because of our Lord, we were 'ransomed' from that 'death' to 'life' in the kingdom.

Again, the "flesh is of no use at all," it's all about the spirit. It is the spirit that can live forever, because the spirit is "everlasting."
