The video is called "The Queens of Comedy" and the 2nd comic on the show is Adelle Givens. She does a bit in her act about what it was like growing up with a grandmother that was convinced that the world was in it's "last days" and how that affected her as a young girl. She is just laugh out loud funny, and that bit made me giggle a little more since I've heard some of the same comments before from people raised in the JW cult. The entire video is funny, but that part really caught my attention. One word of warning, the language used by the comics in the show is extremely vulgar, and that's putting it mildly! If you're bothered by cursing then this video WILL offend you, so be aware of that before viewing.

How long a witness - Never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever Never. Is that an OK answer?
How long out - 40 years!!!!!
Which of the following did you experience as a witness (I answered based on which ones were caused or aggravated by direct association with witnesses, fyi.
Depression - YES
Low self esteem - NO
Anxiety - GOODNESS ME YES!!!!!!!
Psychosis - YES but the JW's were only partly to blame on that issue.
Today which of these symptoms do you have - None anymore, at least that's what the voices in my head are telling me to type, lol.
Today how would you rate your overall degree of happiness - Not really applicable to me but overall I'd rate myself as moderatly happy but still with a tendancy for not quite as severe mood swings as I had when dealing with JW's.

today my daughter is ten years cancer free.
of course, much of that is owed to the tranfusions of blood products.
products that i did not hesitate to have given to her.. with so much going on in my life (recent death in the family), this board, and just the general rush of life, this very important day nearly got by me.

Make me a promise right here and now, when your daughter is 90 and you're, well slightly older than 90, we'll all celebrate her still being cancer free and going strong. The most horrid word in English or any language for that matter is leukemia, for me at least, and it warms my heart to know that this time it's being kicked in the ass.

yesterday 10/8 was the 1 year anniversary of jon's death and i spent it reflecting and just chilling out cause that's what i thought was best.
one thing that came to mind was the help i recieved here and the words of sympathy and encouragement that many of you expressed after jon passed and i just wanted to pass along my thanks again for your kindness.

Yeah I did and though it was slightly vindictive, it was funny as hell. I donated the money to the Aids foundation and Planned parenthood, in Jons' fathers name. They said they will send him a nice thank you letter once a month for a year and print a nice big thank for your support ad in the classifieds of his hometown newspaper. All that money to two groups the JW's can't stand!!!! Boy I'd love to see him try to explain that to his precious brothers. I can't take credit for the idea as it was suggested to me by Jons' sister and others but it was the best way to deal with donating the money and still getting some ha ha's as well. I know it was a little mean spirited, but the money went to good causes and he gets a little jab in the process so I figured, what the hell.
