will it put pressure on politicians to approve the keystone pipeline.. should the nation's refineries stop selling as much gasoline as exports.. how does +$4.00 gasoline affect your monthly budget, how do you adjust..
Hey flat, I think those numbers are great and moving in the right direction. More jobs and more fuel produced locally is a good thing. ( speaking from an american perspective ) If I recall correctly a problem here in the US is the number/location of oil refineries. Personally I dont think the solution is simply drill drill drill. Its taking the entire system into perspective. Multiplying your capacity doesnt solve your problem if you cant refine it into a useful product. Common sense policies are what we need. pbrow

So its clear the 1% doesnt care about how much gas costs (besides hating babies and not wanting you to have affordable housing). What about the 2nd percenters, or maybe even the 3rd percenters? What about 11 percenters? Do they care, or are they lumped with the 98 percenters or 97 percenters?
Fuel costs what it costs. The United States should get what it needs from as local a source as possible...... I think my local farmers market says it the best.... Think global eat local.

It would seem to me that nationalizing the oil industry would go against the principles that this country is founded on. I realize that it is being done in other industries, for example the gm takeover which I also do not feel should have been done. Drill here, use our own continents oil and continue experimenting with nat gas use which we have enormous amounts of.

two nights ago it was meeting night for the "believing" members of my familly.
my wife who is usually the most regular at attending meetings decided to stay home because she wasn't feeling well.
my unbaptized son and his active wife weren't going either.
Tough spot nvr2lte, being a grandparent has to be difficult. I beleive if you have kids you cannot sit on the fence. You should get out no matter what. But I dont know how I would approach being a grandparent because you dont have the control that a parent would have. Do you think your son would cut off all ties with you if you went full on apostate?
I would think if you da'd then just started to do normal things like christmas and the like then you could SHOW your grandaughter these normal things but if your son cuts off all ties that makes it pretty difficult. If you were to just sit on the fence and fade you may be able to have an influence on your grandaughter when she is older but by then she will be pretty well indoctrinated. Tough spot man. I guess try to be an open door for her and ALWAYS have an ear to listen to her. Be the one non-judgemental voice that will listen to ANYTHING she has to say. I know as a born-in myself of a single mother, I knew if i went to meetings w/out my mom or reached for the school or service people would praise me up and down. It will be difficult to break that love-bombing but I remember from a young age not really being able to speak my opinion out of fear that I would get into trouble. Only now do i realize how effed up that is. Be the ear that can hear what she is truly thinking.
Good luck!

in his book he says he still went out on field service.. why would he do that?
i'm finding it so hard to go out, i only take my bible.. .
bromac.
From reading his books I feel that Mr Franz beleived in the bible and going door to door was probably ONE of the ways he spread the message of the bible. I have a relative that is actually still stuck inside does the exact same thing.
If one still beleives in the bible there is nothing wrong with going door to door. It is ONE avenue for the message to get across. I am positive that is what Mr Franz felt as well. Mr Franz was not disallusioned but towards the end just did what he thought he should do. He kept his own councel.
I will always respect the memory of Mr Franz and am glad he had the courage to take the route he did. He touched more lives than I think he or his wife could ever know.

i'm just back from a trip to berlin...the trip was specifically to research the holocaust...anyway...we went to sachenhausen concentration camp on a tour and the guide was exceptional...a military historian...so he asks the group a question:.
" anyone know what colour triangles the jehovah's witnesses had to wear?".
" purple " says i without a blink.. i grieved for all who suffered there and for them too...so many people died there who didn't have a choice...the wtbs forced it on their members...and after reading rutherford's letters to hitler ....it makes me sick....sick to my stomach.. loz x. .
I dont see the JW's of that era being forced to wear the purple triangle. I look at as those JW's as people that knew what hitler was doing was wrong and they took a stand. A lot of people will break when pushed to the brink, as we all talk about how many JW will accept blood when it comes down to it. Right or wrong im going to assume they took a heartfelt stand against the nazi regime. All they had to was raise their hand and it could have been over. (unless they were jewish converts to the jws)
Either way it had to be a moving experience.

power supplier fired jehovah's witness for wanting one day off to attend religious convention.. http://thejobmouse.com/2012/01/27/power-supplier-fired-jehovah%e2%80%99s-witness-for-wanting-one-day-off-to-attend-religious-conven.
bangalore.
.
Why shouldnt a company do that? If an employee asks off for a day and is denied and then said employee doesnt show up for work that sounds like a perfectly acceptable reason to fire someone. The reason for the day off request is irrelevant. You cant run your business if employees dont show up for work.
I hope they fight it.

this whole thing of jehovah's witnesses--it's not my war.
but that doesn't mean a soldier doesn't have a part in it.. i live with my wife and her two brothers (for those who need the refresher course in arkonomics) and the brothers, being witnesses, tend to be real p's in my a. you ever been talked down to by a star trek geek?
he gets all smug because he can speak klingon and "relate" negative star trek events to you?
Im assuming its your house? Why are they still living with you? Give them a written thirty day notice with a ps that says "live long and prosper"

me: well it's kinda complicated.
they think god exists according to various beliefs, but that he is all powerful and does all that is best for everyone.. (she collapsed in laughter at this for a full 2 minutes then composed herself).
mary: so they really think he is all powerful and uses his power to do what is best for everyone?.
hover over the picture of the fist.... "tell her once" lmao!! I agree.... They have the satire down perfectly!!
