  as i have stated in other posts i voted for trump because he said he would crack down on illegals while the left was trying to open the flood gates and let them in to destroy the nation.

  was he the one i wanted in 16, no i was hoping for cruz.

  he is arrogant but smart and somewhat polished and had many views like i do.

  Jdumbs? Ill give you that people who are not born in have somehow been duped by the slick presentation of the witnesses. The born-ins, however, almost to a person, simply are not exposed to any different ideas... by design.

  I am a pretty conservative guy but I still hate seeing posts with "Demoncrat" or "Demorat" that vilify a person simply because he belongs to a specific social group.

  You are correct... jw's are fed the same lies, idiosyncracies and bs repeatedly. That is what keeps the born-ins... in. Some of the most brain washed born ins I grew up with were incredibly smart, articulate and kind people.

  I guess it just strikes a nerve when the two groups are mixed together. Call the converts anything you want... they volunteered for wisdom of tight pants Tony and rubber faced Lett. Born-ins got fucked (some literally) right from the start

  Ray Franz

  i know ray and his wife have passed but i wanted to take a few minutes and put my thanks in writing.

  it is pretty incredible to me that someone who i never met, played such a major role in my outlook on life and more importantly in my (at the time) young daughters lives.

  from the very first pages of "crisis of conscience" it seemed as though ray was writing to me.

  I know Ray and his wife have passed but i wanted to take a few minutes and put my thanks in writing. It is pretty incredible to me that someone who i never met, played such a major role in my outlook on life and more importantly in my (at the time) young daughters lives.

  From the very first pages of "Crisis of Conscience" it seemed as though Ray was writing to me. From previous experiences I have read, I know that I am not the only one who was literally shaking, thinking the elders were going to bust down my door while reading Ray's book. Almost right away this line jumped out at me... "If some of what is presented is painful to read, it was painful to write" I did not rise to hold every position in the JW religion, but I was a true believer. I wanted to do the right thing and be a good dub for my mother. But when I hit 30 and had two young girls, I needed to make sure I was telling them the right things for the right reasons and began reading everything.

  "Crisis" opened my eyes like so many others. It was the final brick out of the wall for me. My daughters are now ten years older, have a completely different outlook on life than I did when I was finishing high school. My goal after finishing Ray's books was making sure that my girls would not need to read "Crisis" That they would not need to log into jw.net or jwfacts and figure out a "post-jw" world. I can honestly say that I have succeeded and while they still have family and friends in the church they are most definitely not jehovahs witnesses. They see it for what it is and for what its not.

  Unsolicited advice for PIMO JWs who live in anguish and fear

  before one who belongs to another religion can become a jw, one must officially resign from one’s former church in writing.

  many who left their family religion to become a jw have been disowned by their families.

  of course, jws consider this to be persecution.

  I would add that pimo is a misnomer. If you are staying in to placate a family member that you think will shun you you are literally still mentally in.

  Your personal freedom is worth losing long term relationships that were built on the foundation of sand. It may be hard to hear but if your friends will ditch you because you do not share every single thought with them, they are not real friends.

  Sea breeze is correct although I remember not being able to fathom the idea..... the longer you wait to get out, the more regret you will have, especially if you have kids. Get out today!

  Can you ever see a time when Govt`s of this world will attempt to abolish all religions ?

  we are now in the 21st century of our common era with its insights into the potential of what can be achieved in the near future to benefit mankind for years to come .. the co-operation of governments around the world on so many levels has never been better than it is today and it is at least encouraging to see this .. whether it has to do with the climate , the environment ,food production ,safe water for all ,and the better health for all in the near future, and in the future space exploration.

  however the problem today is still religion !

  in its many extreme forms that divides us in no ways that politics divide us .. politicians learn how to compromise and work with their opponents for the greater good ,whereas religions don`t.. religions divide humans like no politicians ever did well not to the extremes religions will go anyway.. is their going to come a time in history when governments politicians say enough is enough and try attempt to abolish religion ?.

  Abolishing religion is a totalitarian thing to do. Every freedom loving person should defend the right to believe whatever you want to believe, knowing that ideas have to pass muster in the market place of ideas.

  Abolishing religion means abolishing free thought.

  I was under the impression that the top 1% who ostentatiously pay $150,000 for a wedding dress, build 8 foot cakes and get their money from mommy and daddy are to be despised.

  Boy was I wrong.

  I wish the couple well but the sins of the monarchy are about as long or longer then the sins of religion.

  Can you be a social justice warrior and still be enamored with the Royals?

  it’s quite affirming to see the horrific material that they’re serving up at the convention this year.

  aside from blatant homophobia, the scenes at the end of the convention that are discussed on another thread stoop to new levels of fear mongering.

  it seems to occur to nobody inside the organisation that this kind of material could trigger fear, deprsssion, anxiety, stress.

  My kids still have to go to the meetings / assemblies with their mother. I enjoy helping them to see around this kind of propaganda.

  Little do the die hards realize that even though michael or jesus is drawing an imaginary bow to fight for them, they are still going to die.
