A problem with the book of Daniel
by wozza inleft the wts some years ago, but just before i left we were studying the daniel book that they produced in the book study .. i noticed something wrong in the bible account of daniel and brought this up at the end of the study when the conductor asked if everyone understood that nights study,.
i think i may have started a topic here some years ago about this event ,it was a time when i started to question the wts in my heart and mind.the scriptures are lengthy so i will just shorten things by describing the stories in daniel and how one point really got me thinking about things and perhaps made the brothers wierd out about me sand distance themselves ,here it is..........dan ch 1-4. daniels ( who came to be called belteshazzar)in babylon along with shadrach,meshach & abednego ,daniel,after praying with these 3, interprets and states what nebuchadnezzars dream is( we all know this ,the image with the head of gold body of iron and copper etc) and they are rewarded by being positions of authority.
daniel made ruler of the province and chief prefect over babylons wise men ,the 3 were made overseers of the administation of the province ,all very important jobs ,.

I'm glad you brought this up wowwza, I had noticed these same points before.
There is a lot more wrong with Daniel. During that study I used to think I was the only one having a hard time with it, now I see everyone else just had their head buried in the sand.

After Death Communications in the JW community

an after death communication (or adc) is when a loved one sends a kind of message to this side of life after their death.
it can be a dream or smell (like perfume or roses that would be attached to them in memory) or a feeling of their presence.

Faulty Reasoning to Promote God's "Name"

i've been casually wondering to myself since the propagandist broadcast about the name "jehovah" if it would be more proper to call him "yahweh" to myself.

I've been casually wondering to myself since the propagandist broadcast about the name "Jehovah" if it would be more proper to call him "Yahweh" to myself.
Well tonight the answer suddenly came to me: It doesn't matter. If He/She indeed exists, it is not true that you MUST "know and use God's personal name" in one's own language in order to know & have a relationship with Him (/Her). Most children live their whole lives calling their parents "Mom" & "Dad," which are TITLES, and no one criticizes this. I have had foreign friends who introduce themselves & go by American names because their legal name is too difficult for most English-speaking persons to pronounce & spell.
It does not matter.

Have you tried pointing out the hypocrisy of her actions? I never considered using sex as a weapon when my husband woke up before me. What about "your fine conduct may win them over/[back]"? And "render the marriage due"?
I don't mean to add fuel to your fire but as an honest onlooker's opinion, it seems to me your wife is a mean and spiteful person at heart, addition to and beyond the WT's influence.

by freemindfade ini'm sick of.... ...having an elder i barely know invite himself over to my house, and bring another asshole elder with him, you know, to "see how i'm doing" f-ck them.
...having same elder with all insincerity approach me at the beeting and before inviting himself over, ask, "how are you doing?
" then when i say everything is great, go ahead and invite them selves over anyway.

about nine years ago a elder with asperger's syndrome found out my family member almost came to blows with our next door neighbor who is so successful, he probably makes $2 million a year net-income with all his businesses and investments.
the co-owner of the property got angry because our neighbor did not like certain breeds of dogs, the fact was he was mauled by the breed elder bucket-head owned and elder bucket-head refused to fix the fence and so his dog would continually show up on my neighbors front door harassing his little dogs and growl.. elder asperger's heard my dad and his friend talking about uncle bucket-head's near blows even though they were whisphering at book study, his ears are good when it comes to seeking out sin and finding ways to bring brothers before the elders.

Name Things You Can't Do If You Are JW...or not supposed to do
by minimus inwitnesses are not supposed to stand for the national anthem but can stand for a flag salute.. you can't say bless you if someone sneezes, good luck!, or " you too" if someone says, happy holidays.. it is a religion of cannot dos.
everything is pagan and worldly.. what are things that are unacceptable to jehovah's witnesses that really are no big deal to everyone else?

No team sports in school (but clique-y congregation "touch football" games are ok).
No playing with the neighbor kids or having school friends.
No birthday cake at school (but you can have some at work if it's leftover the day after).
No signing group cards for work birthdays or deaths -must send your own sympathy card with a tract or brochure which often just nothing gets sent.
No raffles or lottery tickets.
No R rated movies.
