  I'm glad you started this thread because this is on my mind.

  My two siblings, our spouses and I are now awake and fading. Our parents and the elders are literally harrassing me, I'm talking 1-2 messages a week for two months now, after I missed 6 mos of meetings.

  We are very sad for my parents. They have a lot of anxiety, depression, and insomnia over not being "good enough" and fear of their children's impending destruction.

  We want to wake them up. They were baptized as children and are now in their 50s. They are very devout and truly gave their lives away.

  In my own search to "make sure of all things" I am writing a series of college classroom style PowerPoints about JW issues. My siblings like them a lot. We want to show them to our parents in a sort of intervention maneuver but are also scared of absolutely shattering then emotionally and subsequently their running to the elders to tattle, as they've done the past.

  I had a melt down with my Father over my Mom and Sister not coming to my daughter's Birthday Party.

  last year my daughter had her first birthday and all my wife's family and friends were there.

  my family didn't attend.

  my mother and sister still believe in the jw teachings even though they are both considered inactive.

  i'm sure a lot of us actually know mutual people, as the co's relocate all over the country.. here's a few from the southeast us: (let me know if you recognize any names and post yours too please...).

  Witnesses - Ever Wondered Why You're So Tired After Assemblies/Meetings?

  recently shared this with me.. they compared the tiredness they felt after attending an assembly and meetings, and noted how much worse it was than actually working and studying hard for hours for their secular employment!

  why were they so exhausted after an assembly/meeting?

  Mandatory Reporters of Child Abuse

  all states in the us mandate health care workers and teachers to report suspected child abuse to law enforcement.

  this year our commonwealth expanded the law to include clergy, and to include a mandatory two hour training on what to look for and how to report, required for all mandatory reporters.. my coworker at the hospital said she and her husband did the training together, because her husband volunteers in the sunday school at the church, they required him to take it too.

  i asked several witnesses when this law came into effect if all the elders and ms are going to be taking the training and everyone looked at me like i was an alien and they had no idea what the heck i was talking about.

  How are they getting away with this? Does anyone have any insights into this law? Why are the churches complying with having their leadership and lay volunteers do this but JW's are just ignoring it?

  The last time they offered us a "shepherding call" they said they wanted to "talk about any concerns I have." I didn't think anything of it at the time but my husband thinks they were referencing my child abuse conversations. Well I don't care to talk about my concerns with them, I don't want to see their sick filthy lying faces in my house ever.

  I had tried to forget about this, but now that it's on my mind and this time I am fully awake, I believe I will be speaking to my contacts at the Department of Child Welfare.

  i won't make this long.

  i went out again and found him.

  got in through the back door, pushed him to wake up, got him out, fed him, watered him and said he was family and i have a plan.. we talked all day, i let him do what he does, in order not to scare him about the future change that could happen for him.

  Wow what a sad story. Your sister & BIL sound like horrible people. I'm sure your nephew can see the difference between the love you show for him vs. the JWs treatment. I hope he can get some real help.

  Welcome HeartsAfire!

  My husband woke up before I did. I resented him initially but got over it relatively quickly. I have been fully awake for only about 6 months. However I was baptized at age 10 and have had intermittent doubts/cognitive dissonance since age 12.

  All of our parents, grandparents, most of our siblings, and our favorite cousins are all-in dub-bots. I understand your wanting to wake your husband up. It is a struggle for me everyday to not get on the phone and give a passionate unwitness to my family members whom I love; I feel such a burning desire to get them out of this prison. But then I remember how they most likely would really respond (shunning me and/or having me formally expulsed) and I have to say nothing.

  today at work i had an interesting set of co workers.

  one was telling us about her side job selling sex toys(also a l&d nurse).

  the other one, very beautiful, intelligent woman told us of her 2 kids.

  I actually do not have J-dar at work. A lot of times people surprise me. But that's probably because they've mostly turned out to be fringe dwellers.
