Didn't we used to have a song or something that said "We belong to Jehovah"?
JWs don't worship Jesus or view him as diety, which is contrary to gospel accounts and most of Christendom today.
good morning.
i was just checking out the forum and something occured to me.
jws simply cannot be christians.

there were always all types of speakers in the org.
myself, growing up a "witness", must have heard all types of talks, and given by all manner of speakers, especially on sundays, when almost every week we would get a "visiting" brother giving the public talk.. sometimes, you would have a "great" speaker, all fluent and animated.
other times we would get a comical speaker, one who would maybe purposelly get a few laughs outta the audience.
Just remembered a few more.
This one passage of scriptures repeatedly mentioned the word "brazier," and the person reading it kept pronouncing it like "brassiere."
This older guy, a very flustered speaker, giving a TMS talk assignment about homosexuality, blurted out in the middle "Homo sex is unclean & dirty!"
This one elder had his face and hand blown off in an accident. He would give incomprehensible hour long public talks with his half a face and hook hand. Literally, no one could understand a word he said. But everyone kept requesting him far and wide because "his bravery is so inspiring!" Children of the audience were a mix of either terrified or giggling.
so here's an interesting thing that happened lately.
if you guys have followed my previous posts, you probably know my mother almost died from severe anemia, decided to take blood transfusions to avoid death and the elders announced the congregation she disassociated.
last week a "brother" came to visit from a congo about 100 kilometers away.
maybe it's shocking, funny, a good story, etc.. i was just watching the one below... i was shocked!

second in a series of reminiscing disappointments that cut me off this religion one string at a time.... actually, i had a one week break which i spent quite poorly: not sleeping at night, so i could catch up on my favorite shows, eating crappy foods the whole day, booze and hangovers.
i'm an introvert and really, this for me is an ideal holiday :).
but...all the above, coupled with having too much free time has brought back some demons who had been sleeping...and snoring.. back to the topic.. in my former congregation, there's one wannabe-elder-no-education-hates-his-job-envies-others-mysogynist-ministerial servant.
in my dream a while ago, the wt had already started "encouraging" everyone to contribute 30. either it meant at least 30 hours of "preaching" or 30% tithe.
the next scene is when we all stood up for the opening song at the kh, and lo and behold - the opening lyrics went on like (this is vague but you'll understand the context anyway):.
what a privilege it is to serve the kingdom.
VI, I just recently used those lyrics to describe JW life.
NBdog, yes I've had many a naked at the meeeting dream. Also naked in a judicial meeting dreams, which are even worse.

i have noticed that many lately have left the org or are in the process of leaving.
how many of you have left since 2015?.
this month will be my 21 years out of the org into the road of freedom.
the apocryphal books are accepted by catholics in their douay version as inspired of god, but rejected by the rest of christianity?.
why?.
when you examine the reasons for and against acceptance of the apocrypha as divinely inspired or not, it dawns on you that the traditionally accepted 39 books of the hebrew scriptures are nothing but the same sort of stuff as the more recent apocryphal books are, with the only difference being that the 39 much older ot books contain a lot more scary stories, fables and mythology invented by the ancient jewish priesthood to frighten their followers into fear and obedience and continued giving of meat sacrifices for the priests to eat.. ultimately, the ot can be summarised as nothing but a mixture of relatively accurate historical jewish war histories and genealogies, such as the aprocrypha is, mingled with scary stories made up by the ancient jewish priests and scribes..
