Yea, Larsinger said he was the Messiah! Also, OBVES thinks he's annointed with something.

Did anyone on this site claim to be of the annointed?
by still thinking injust curious, because i'm trying to get my head around what makes someone think they were annointed?
and then, if they left, what made them realise they weren't?
and how did you feel about discovering that.. i read crisis of concience and that was a real turning point for me, i don't think there is any going back to old thought processess after that.

Are JWs the worst restaurant customers?
by Alfred in(a little background info before i ask my question...).
my sister-in-law (non-jw), who manages a popular chain restaurant near a kingdom hall, just found out that my wife and i have recently faded, so she decided to get something off her chest the other day... you guessed it: she wanted us to know that jws are the worst customers ever!
she then told us some really embarrassing stories about how jws would request a table for 15 to 20 people (after a sunday meeting) and then (when the bill came) some of the jws would start deliberating amongst themselves on whether or not the waiter was diligent or not (to justify the low tip he was getting anyway).

I have a very good finacial situation, even compared to a westerner, yet I don't think we should tip every time and too much...at least not without receiving a little something in return. That movie scene expresses my thoughts in a great way. For a bill with less than 20 bucks, 1 dollar tip is ok.
I also think tips are an incentive for corruption. Why should medics, clerks, teachers, etc. not receive tips, too?

I never send meals back except in an obvious case of something wrong with the food, which until now has not happened. I don't ask more than 1 or 2 questions and I take less than 3 minutes to decide what to eat. I never stay at the table after I finish eating. I dare say in my case a 1 dollar tip is enough.

Ha, ha, ha, nice scene. The problem is...in Romania there is no taxation for a hypothetical income. There is taxation on any real income, but no tax on tips because you can't prove someone does get tips. All the tip goes to the waitress as a reward for being nice. For extra nice waitresses, like those mentioned in the cut from Tarantino's movie, I would tip somewhere between 50%-300%, depends on the bill.
2.35 an hour? This means around 20 bucks for a 8 hour day. In a 24 days-work month, they make 480 dollars. Do you know what was my salary when I was a government clerk? 400 american dollars per month and I have a master degree in administration! So if I ever come to America, I expect the waitresses to tip me, not viceversa!

Yea, but the way I see it in the news...the Muslims are the ones who have their butts kicked at the moment. The Jihad has never been more than a terrorism-guerilla war and I don't think Islamists are capable of conquering weapon-in-hand anything more than a pile of rocks near their borders. I don't understand this fear of the Western World.

During all ages, there were court-bootlickers who invented all sorts of extraordinary feats and legends and attributed them to their monarchs. Or the monarchs attributed these feats to themselves! If king David was real, could he not invent this giant-slayer fairytale for his PR? He was a capable singer and poet, as the Bible says...

TD, you may be right, but the consecrated term is "foot-fetish", not "foot-partialism". If I recall correctly, the fondling of breasts was uncleanliness? Also, petting of the genitalia? If these 2 partialisms are a sin according to the elder's manual, is foot-fetish also a sin? Mary Magdalene seems to have had a sort of something for Jesus' feet....

I only tip around 5-7 % of the bill and only if I see a little dilligence from the waiter. It's a job like any other, keep it or leave it, go to school and change it. There are hundreads of jobs that don't get tips.

Another child whose brain and life are screwed up by religion! Thank you, Jesus! We worship you, Lord!
