  Any more fond (not so) DC memories?

  my oldest child was barely 4 months old and not an easy baby.

  she cried all the time....and getting her to sleep during the day was a pain.....especially in a facility that was 80 degrees with a/c.

  on sunday afternoon of the dc....knowing we had a two hour drive home (she also didn't sleep in the car well).....i went to an "off limits" area with her.

  Honestly, I didn't have a lot of DC memories that stood out since most DC's follow the same basic formula: a series of boring speeches by big shot brothers, new releases, baptisms, fake experiences, and the overrated drama/play.

  but i remember sneaking in 2 snickers bars when i was only given healthy food for lunch and snacks

  another memory: A sister had to go to the bathroom and asked her friend to watch the fire alarm. Shortly after the sister left, her friend's daughter pulled the fire alarm. A voice over the intercom said: "This is an emergency..." Everyone was laughing. It happened in the morning before the DC opened.

  Has anyone ever put a flyer / note in the donation box

  has anyone ever put a note / flyer in a jw donation box?or has anyone ever found one in a donation box?

  what was your reaction?.

  i've heard of some putting stickers in literature (before it's published).. i was thinking of dropping a few in the donation box (when i visit my elderly mother i sometimes go to the meeting).. what would be a good note?.

  Ignorance

  - "Higher education can lead us away from serving God"

  - "we don't need to go to college, it would be a waste of time and money"

  - "the literature and meetings are all we need for education"

  - "everything published by the WTBS is true, we don't need to check their facts"

  - "we should avoid independent thinking, it can corrupt us"

  - "stop relying on your imperfect self, you should be putting your trust and faith in God"

  I am so glad that i got out before i became brain damaged from all this.

  Did you experience classdivision while being JW?

  we all know how jw brag about their strong internal love.

  all are treated equal no matter rank, color, money, status etc.

  is this really true?

  Yes...and it wasn't fun. Certain dubs received special treatments, and while the low tier dubs got the short end of the stick.

  One example: one sunday afternoon after the meeting, my elderly partner and i (both sisters from poor, divided households but still in good standing) were waiting to be assigned to a car group. It was fair weather, but there weren't a lot of dubs going out in f.s. Once everyone was assigned to a car group, we were the only pair left. The elder suggested that we should make arrangements beforehand. (if only he heard the "i'm sorry, i have other plans after the meeting" lines that we get) Then my partner started crying. We ended up doing street work and taking the bus home

  bearing in mind that every experience in the watchtower has some kind of agenda behind it , what about this experience of a london girl going to ireland to preach & have a holiday.

  i was just waiting for the inevitable "i came home & passed all my exams with flying colours.

  " but it didn't say.. and what kind of responsible parent would take a child on holiday so that she could " take her mind off her exams.

  Reminds me of this one Assembly experience where a brother had an exam the day after the Assembly. At first he wanted to skip the Assembly so he could study, but his mom reminded him to put "God" first. So he ended up going to the Assembly and still receieved the highest grade on the exam.

  There's something about these experiences that don't always add up.
