  New to this site. Scared, Lonely and in a lot of pain due to shunning by my family.

  this is my very first post to this forum.

  i am begging for some much needed encouragment and support by those who are kind hearted and know exactly the pain shunning causes.

  i am a 30 year old former jehovah's witness and a mother of two beautiful girls.

  Welcome to this board!

  I'm so sorry to hear that your own family is shunning you, but I wouldn't focus on that so much.

  The quote: "Living well is the best revenge" got me through the shunning phase. I was making new friends, picking up new hobbies, and doing other stuff to fill my time and to forget about the shunning.

  In the mean time, you could get a dog to replace your family. Afterall, a dog's love is unconditional.

  were you made to feel guilty if you missed a meeting / service ?

  going along with the last thread ( great subject matter) .

  i'm sort of hitching along here.. we had a bookstudy at our home for several years, every week we were prepared, and we handled service arraingements every saturday morning, even with two young children.. one saturday morning, ( in the middle of winter) one son had a bad cold, and our furnace konked out around 8:15 am.. i was running around trying to get ready for service, calling a repair man, and help my wife get ready for service.. the group comes in at 9:00, and i'm on the phone talking to the repair man who wants to come out between 10-2.. so i'm not going out this morning, and i'm staying home with my sick son, wife and son #2 are going out in service.. conductor comes downstairs and looks at the furnace ( he is a school teacher, no mechanical experience at all, check out my earlier thread video under friends, page 5827 titled "elder makes a video,,,, this is the same guy ) and gives me the classic guilt trip because i'm not going out in service for at least an hour this morning.. i remember thinking just who is this guy, trying to make me feel bad because my family is #1, service is not my focus today.. after all of these years, i cannot help but think of this comment now :.

  Retail value: low priced silver jewelry from stores

  Sentimental value: my mom's wedding brooch and a silver bracelet with bells from my infancy

  My relatives gave me jade bracelets and a $300 jade pendant, but a certain publishing company wouldn't let me keep them.

  Do they still play the piano during songs at the KH?

  i was just now thinking of this do they still play the piano at the kh or is that part out of there all together also, i have been learning that when you look at a word in the bible many words translated over to hebrew have a deeper meaning for example the word praise a person can just glance at the word and think praise, but there are many hebrew meanings behind the word praise and one of the meanings:.

  zamar-to touch the strings or parts of a musical instrument i.e.

  play upon it, to make music accompanied by the voice, to celebrate in song and music, give praise, sing forth praises, psalms.

  i think patti labelle is too much of a screamer when she "sings".. i don't think jerry seinfeld is all that funny.. i'm just not into george clooney.

  I'm surprised no one mentioned Paris Hilton. She even got into the 2007 Guiness Book of World Records as the most overrated celebrity.

  She was in a couple TV shows and movies, and released her own album.

  Today is my brithday and I feel depressed.

  woke up next to my wonderful wife after getting up she make me a great breakfast and for dinner tonight grilled steak and a brithday cake she made.

  so why am i depressed?

  could it be my children will not call me today to wish me a happy brithday.

  • making sacrifices that go underappreciated

  • pressure to always do more
  • 2nd class citizen treatment towards females (especially older, single ones) and spiritual orphans / widows / widowers
  • playing favorites
  • narrow mindedness / black and white thinking
  • judgemental snobs
  • unhealthy sheltered life
  • spying / stalking
  • gossip / rumors / and gullibile "friends"

  • subtle bullying / relational aggression

  I would list more, but it's starting to bring back very unpleasant memories.
