  I meditate on the example of Ray Franz and other men and women who have maintained their Christian identity despite the enormous efforts of the WTS to destroy them spiritually. It helps motivate me to "keep moving forward rather than looking at the things behind."

  I left behind a great deal of family and friends. Yet, there is no record of my longing for those things. Instead, I esteem the reproach of the Christ as riches greater than the treasures of the Watchtower Society; for I look intently toward the payment of the reward.

  How I was not convicted for killing a California Condor once...How could this story be funny with an awful subject like that??

  once i had been arrested for shooting the condor, the animal rights/environmental activists went justifiably nuts and were picketing the trial like crazy.

  but when my turn came to testify i told the judge that i was guilty but very very sorry...and that i hoped they would understand and be lenient.

  i explained how i was camping and hunting in the wilderness and fell and broke my leg and was stranded for days...once i ran out of food i became very weak and scared but fell asleep...when i woke i saw a large bird on a rock ledge right above me and quickly raised my gun and shot the bird for food...i did not even know it was califonia condor at the time...but i ate the large bird for three days until i was found and rescued.

  Downloadable leaflet "Highlights From The Finished Mystery"

  i've just finished my fourth and final "under the microscope" series of articles in which (hopefully) i've debunked many of the arguments often put forward by those claiming that jehovah's witnesses must be god's sole channel of communication with mankind.. this latest article focusses mostly on "the finished mystery" and the many errors contained therein that prove it couldn't possibly have been approved by christ when he was ostenisbly selecting the bible students as his chosen earthly representatives in 1919. i would like to thank and acknowledge alfred as being a huge help in compiling a list of key "highlights" of the book that serve to expose it for what it really is - a total work of fiction and absurdity.. shortly before alfred left this forum, we discussed the possibility of using his list to produce a special leaflet that people could print out themselves and insert in their "revelation climax" books, or "revelation climax" books belonging to family members.

  Nice work Cedars. I can't imagine the number of hours you sit at your computer working on all these projects; jwsurvey, various articles, and now this nicely done leaflet.

  Your efforts are appreciated. For my part, I will try to put this leaflet to use. The roomy was thinking of attending a portion of the district convention this summer (not completely out mentally, me thinks), and if that's the case, I intend to go with her so I can be prepared to address any mind-control being presented. I like the suggestion of placing copies of this leaflet on chairs... or in restrooms, possibly one or two just dropped on the floor at the arena.

  Highlights from "THE FINISHED MYSTERY" - along with a picture of the book, has a kinda WTS look to it. It's not deceptive, it just looks professionally done - like the WT literature. It might not be immediately dismissed as trash. It'll catch some eyes.

  one of our most dogmatic, authoritarian elders at the congregation i used to attend made this comment.. .

  the wts has beat the drum of absolute authority so long and hard that the idea of free will, or even the notion of a god who might take in to consideration the wants, likes, and desires of his own people has been strangled out of the jw psychology.. .

  in one of his talks, brother that's final informed the congregation that it is pointless for us to engage in speculation about how our lives will be in the new system.

  The WTS has beat the drum of absolute authority so long and hard that the idea of free will, or even the notion of a God who might take in to consideration the wants, likes, and desires of His own people has been strangled out of the JW psychology.

  In one of his talks, Brother That's Final informed the congregation that it is pointless for us to engage in speculation about how our lives will be in the new system. "Jehovah will decide what our lives will be like. There is no sense in fantasizing about where you want to live... on the beach, near the Alps,... you will live where you are told to live doing the assignment Jehovah gives you." This, of course, was greeted by nods of submission by all in attendance.

  I always pictured myself living at the base of a nice mountain range, rasing crops and maybe a few animals, perfecting carpentry and hardscaping. That actually appeals to me. But, Brother That's Final corrected my rebellious, independent thinking real quick.

  im just wondering,how do you do it?

  how do you manage to convice them that your genuine?

  how do you manage to keep up that pretense without running screaming from the hall?.

  That was a game I was unable to play.

  When I began to suspect something was not right (even though I didn't have a clue how to define my suspicions), I immediately began to withdraw. I stopped talking to people. I would show up for meeting and then leave immediately. Quit commenting. Stopped field service. Soon I stopped Thursday nights. Then I only stayed for the sunday talk. Then I stopped going altogether. The whole process took about a year and I never realized it was called fading. I just couldn't stomach the place one piece at a time that's how I found myself out... physically, at least. The mental out came later.

  I believed in that whore house so completel that when I began to see the cracks in the wall it blew my brains out. I never would have had the ability to play the game for the sake of maintaining family relationships. I was a disaster.

  Londonlady, you ask a good question. I am also curious how some of you folks do it. Iron stomach? Morbid fear? Sheer force of will?

  i've just received this comment from a country in the south china sea.

  i'd rather not be more specific than that.. the english is poor, but the message is heart-wrenching.

  any who question whether ordinary publishers wrestle with doubts need only read this message.

  The GB is always presenting itself and the FDS in general in elvated terms. More holy. Higher ranking. Possessing a more glorious hope. Paragraph 8 indicates that the FDS even elicit more happiness in the heavens just for doing the right thing.

  If there is much “joy in heaven over one sinner

  that repents,” imagine the joy in the

  heavenly courts when one of Christ’s

  spirit-begotten brothers finishes a life

  course of integrity.

  so i had a good conversation wth my brother, who i thought was a devout jw.

  he eventually asked "are you going to the meetings?

  ", i said "no" then he said "why not, you know we're near the end".
