looking through the internet i learned that everything i have ever know to be true is a lie at the beginning of time god and his celestial family created the earth and the heavens.

they are the greater force and also the fallen angels that are prophesized in the bible.

they sped up the evolution in people separating them from monkeys.

What's the Watchtower's current stance on...

the big bang?

-do they leave room for it as a possibility for jehovah to have created the universe?

(i heard an elder say once that the society doesn't necessarily rule out the big bang as a possiblity).

Evolution?

-I know large scale evolution is a big no-no according to them but what about small scale?

Dinosaurs?

-According to the Watchtower, what happened to the dinosaurs?

The age of the human species?

-Do they believe we only existed for 6,000 years?

I never really knew the Watchtower's stance on these topics, so I appreciate your answers!

The meetings used to make me physically sick.

it's 9:10 sunday morning.

i'm dressed already, and just finished rushing through my watchtower a few seconds ago.

now i need to wait for my ride to pick me up (i couldn't drive yet).

It's 9:10 Sunday morning. I'm dressed already, and just finished rushing through my watchtower a few seconds ago. Now I need to wait for my ride to pick me up (I couldn't drive yet). I'm standing around my kitchen, then it hits me. My stomach starts killing me. I start pacing back and forth hoping it ends soon. My ride shows up and I get in their car. My stomach settles down. Then throughout the meeting it comes in waves, usually it would calm down and I'd be fine. But I remember one time where I had to go to the bathroom multiple times one meeting.

After I stopped going to meetings I realized that almost every time before I left for a meeting I would get stomach pains and have to go to the bathroom. I havn't had anything similar happen to me since I stopped going. It's horrible that I disliked the meetings so much (although I didn't realize it at the time) that it would make me physically ill. Has this happened to anyone else?

for the last four days, every morning i take donut out for her walk, i always find jw's preaching door to door across the street.

i always cross to them, and wait with dread at what i think is inevitable: they will try to preach to me.. but it never happens.

four days, seen three diifferent groups, nothing.

I personally don't think they are "snubbing" you. When I used to go out in FS we never used to talk to people walking down the street. Maybe a "Hello, nice weather/how are you?" or even just a smile. I think you may come off as a crazy person if you start asking "Is it a new policy to ignore people?" I know if someone did that to me while I was in FS I would think they were a nut.

Just found my fourth memorial invitation.

it seems like i was really wanted at the memorial this year.. .

first invite: saw a jw in a gas station while i was eating some food with my friend.

he invited me to the memorial orally.. second invite: it was a saturday morning, i was in the shower when a jw came, mom answered the door and talked with him, he left a memorial tract and some magazines.. third invite: found a somewhat crumpled memorial tract with a few small tears on my porch.

It seems like I was really wanted at the memorial this year.

First invite: Saw a JW in a gas station while I was eating some food with my friend. He invited me to the memorial orally.

Second invite: It was a Saturday morning, I was in the shower when a JW came, Mom answered the door and talked with him, he left a memorial tract and some magazines.

Third invite: Found a somewhat crumpled memorial tract with a few small tears on my porch. I think the cats were playing with it.

Fourth invite: A JW who I do yardwork for came to my house to see if I would work for him again this year. I agreed. He then invited me to the memorial orally but with an intimidating manner so I just kind of said "okay."

Fifth invite: After doing yardwork for him he invited me again. I just sort of nodded and said "okay".

Sixth invite: Saturday, the day before the memorial, I went away for the day and came home to find another tract on the porch with a note written on it saying I was missed and he hoped to see me tomorrow.

Seventh invite: Just opened the front door (we rarely use it) and found another tract.

If you're wondering if I went to the memorial, I didn't. I went out to dinner with my girlfriend and hung out with her until about 9:30.
