  I looked at one of the WT publications mentioned in the video. This contradictory gem is right there in plain view

  *** ws chap. 1 p. 10 par. 16 The Desire for Peace and Security Worldwide ***
  It is as the apostle Paul wrote to his Christian fellow worker: “There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5) Was Moses the mediator between Jehovah God and mankind in general? No, he was the mediator between the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and the nation of their fleshly descendants. Likewise, the Greater Moses, Jesus Christ, is not the Mediator between Jehovah God and all mankind.

  Basically, they are saying that you should not beleive the Bible saying Jesus was a ransom for all. His perfect blood sacrifice was only good for 144k and Jesus is *only* a greater Moses, Moses being born a fleshly sinful man.

  Are accomodations always provided for bethelites? I mean, maybe "temporary workers" are "allowed" to come up and use their own money or stay

  with friends and thus WT gets work without giving away a 6 foot square?

  Welcome F@L, and if you want more research on swearing check out Andrew Dice Clay, Sam Kinison, Eddie Murphy, Katt Williams or someone who banged their foot on a bed leg.

  Whoa, what about Richard Pryor and George Carlin. If any comedian mastered the art of making light of normally socially taboo

  vernacular, it was these two. Probably the funniest too IMHO.

  Something that has helped me understand why people continue to go to church

  the more i realized how ridiculous religion as a whole is the more i wondered why so many people even bother to continue going to church.. but someone on this board made a comment recently that has stuck with me- it's something that i could never relate to because i was brought up a jw.

  and maybe many people here have trouble relating too for the same reason.. the comment was simple: people go to church because they enjoy it.

  it was a new thought to me because as a jw meetings have always been such a bland and boring affair.

  leavingwt that was an interesting observation. As someone who has been to both and left both. You are right about the victim part. JWs are victims and what is worse is that you can't tell on the assailant. Just as someone who may victimize little ones and say that you wil lose your parents , relatives and friends if you let anyone know.

  But I would not go back to my older church roots because of the holidays I tried to get away from. I'll go to a movie, play, club or anything else if I just want entertainment.

  'Great Crowd' of 12 people get baptised at District Convention!!!

  yesterday, out of 4,035 people in attendance at the dc, only 12 people were baptized.

  that is one more than eleventeen and one less than a baker's dozen.. .

  want to take a guess as to the age group of this 'great crowd?

  Regarding no one being baptised, I think I will use that in conversations with JW friends. They will point out that the next disaster or political uprising means we are close. I will counter and say that when no one gets baptised as a JW, then we can ALL be happier.

  Who drove the Christendom Car in Field Service?

  you know, the 2 door coupes that the friends had to struggle to get in and out of the back seat, out in service.

  was it you, or did you do the spiritually respnosible thing and drive the 4 door sedan?.

  It was always nice to have the 4 door to squeeze random people in. My field service was mostly done in informal car groups where the most fun was had.
