i keep reading on here that jw's don't make friends outside the cult, and this is what i used as an excuse for stepping further away from being baptized.
she tells me it's not true, and they can have what ever friends they want.
If you are still studying, you can ask "What is a bad association". She will probably waiver on but ask about examples and once she is done explaining, you can ask again or state that it does not sound like you are free to associate with anyone.

I know a couple of JW scientists. One born in with a MS (no not ministerial servant ) and the other in their profession. The extent of deceit does reach a wide range of walks.
When I found out that there was a bait and switch. Had I known that the GB places itself in between God and man, I would have not joined. I think that indoictrination along with having family or marriage are what keep many in so that is not a big deal to them. However, I see now they are veiled. A popular saying for a JW that does not vote in political elections is that they have "voted for Jesus". But this is only half true. A JW votes for Jesus through the GB.
i`m just curious if such books as "life everlasting in freedom of the sons of god " " let your will be done on earth" etc.
are still available in the kingdom hall libraries and if they are then that should be a wake up call to all jehovah`s witnesses.. if they are not then that should be an even bigger wake up call to all jehovah`s witnesses.

Most Muslims I talk to quickly reject the Islamic funamentalists, and gladly show passages in the Qu'ran that show peacefulness. Yet some will disregard the "soft Muslims" and equate them all to Jihadists because some small groups out of the billions of muslims are fighters.
