is it me or has that long hair been digitally lengthened?
the longer portion of his hair doesn't even blend with the hair closest to his roots.
It's not neccesarily photoshop'd. But it is fake.
They didn't take a camera out in public and get a shot like that of real witnesses talking to a real business-bikerman.
Everyone in the photo is a bethel worker, which means his hair is fake. Probably a wig or those clipon extender things. Also his beard is makeup.
a controversial essay is part of aussie news today.. the essence of it is that the state needs to kill about 20% of the poorest in the community, to fix its financial problems.
it is, of course, claimed to be 'tongue-in-cheek,' but is there a sound basis to the concept?
i sound very right-wing in saying that, but i live opposite a boarding house that is full of people who, i guess, would be prime candidates for the cull.
It would not work, of course. It would cull the bottom-rung workers that make our pre-packaged meals, wash our restaurant dishes, and make our hotel room beds.
Well that's assuming it's done indescriminately ala a plague or bomb.
But if people were individually chosen to die it would make sense to choose people without jobs at all, bedridden, without family who rely on them.
why not cull 20% of the wealthy, and redistribute their wealth back to the bottom.
Well one good reason is that the wealthy are the ones who would make the decision. They're not going to have themselves or their family executed.
Additionally if you started killing people for being successful then nobody would try to earn any more money than they absolutely need. They certainly wouldn't report their earnings anymore. Suddenly the entire population would quit their high-skill jobs and start flipping burgers at the resaurants without owners.

I recall Daniel having a rather close association with political leaders as did Joseph. Both were blessed by God in their jobs.

I'm a bit confused about how destroying it would be beneficial.
The idea behind boycotting things is to make them less profitable to produce.
You don't buy a stolen computer because you are giving money to a theif. That gives the thief incentive to go steal more. The fact that the theft already happened does not make it ok to purchase it. But only because it gives incentive to the theif.
If the thief already sold it to someone, he has already gained the maximum profit from it he will ever get. And if the computer gets destroyed after he's already sold it, well all the more better, that's one less used computer flooding the market and possibly one more dude looking to buy a computer.
If you have a receipt, you could return it, that would harm the vendor selling ivory. But just destroying something after it's already been bought and paid for isn't going to help or harm the poaching industry at all.
