disclaimer: i have never been a jw and don't believe in any gods.. .
i've always wondered what the jw line on this would be.
i'm sure sure if it's an original thought but i don't remember reading anything about it.. it starts with the assumption that people in the future paradise earth are exactly as perfect as adam & eve before the fall.. so, what if one of these future people "sins"?
There's a thousand years right after armageddon when the human race 'becomes' perfect. By the end of the thousand years they'll be back up to the same level of perfection as Adam and Eve was.
Anyone who sins during the thousand years is still covered by the ransom and won't be doomed to death. (Unless it's something serious I guess)
But after the thousand years, anyone who sins will just die instantly and won't have time to reproduce. So there will be no imperfect offspring.
He didn't do that with Adam and Eve because his 'purpose' was for Adam and Eve to fill the earth. And if he kill them and replaced them then his purpose would have failed since someone ELSE would have filled the earth. I guess that would be a bad thing for some reason. Also he wanted to prove to everyone that humans couldn't be successful without his constant help.
I of course have a dozen objections to all that crap. But there it is regardless.
the gun nut label is wacky.
gun enthusiast seems more pc.
but in his own words:.
So tell me, if a guy with a basement full of gold liked to make YouTube videos showing it off, would you think he was a moron when he ended up dead? Cuz I would.
By that logic, every celebrity on the planet is a 'moron'.
And that's just. . . well. . .
you may have a point there.
from the various readings about the subject, it occured to me that pedophilia could very well be hardwired, as are homosexuality and heterosexuality.
that's not to say that it can be legitimized, like the other 2 sexualities.
it does mean though, that a different approach needs to be taken as soon as pedo proclivity shows itself.

You may not like what he does, but he wasn't doing anything illegal that we know of and he certainly didn't deserve to be murdered for it.
His right to own those guns is protected by the same document that guarantees that you have the freedom of speech to call innocent victims 'morons' without being thrown in jail for being an asshole.
____
When the second amendment was penned, there was no such thing as a semi-automatic rifle.
There were single shot muskets which took like 2 minutes to reload. That's what they gave us the right to bear.
That's worthy of note.
But on the other hand:, of course, the point was to make sure that the citizens could not be oppressed by their government. So if we are only allowed to carry single shot muskets. And the government is using automatic assault rifles and tanks, then the government has nothing to fear from it's people. Which is bad.
In addition. America is not an island-nation like Japan. So banning guns would not work as well here as it does there. Not counting the millions of guns already in the country, more can easily be smuggled in on land from neighboring countries. So the bad guys will still get guns no matter what.
If guns were harder to get, then 20 year old lunatics wouldn't be able to shoot up schools. Proffessionals still could, but at least a lot of the random nutjobs would be weeded out.
I don't have a good solution. But I think it's good to understand both sides fairly.
And I don't know why he was killed. But the fact that a gun rights advocate was shot in the head is no more to the point than if a marijuana legalization advocate was hung by a hemp rope.
You may think that if gun control was better than he wouldn't have been shot. That may be true. Or he may have simply been shot illegally. We don't know the motive, but if the person wanted him dead he'd probably be dead regardless.
True, his guns didn't protect him. But neither did the local police. And since sometimes the police fail, it may at least be nice to know that he had the option of defending himself.

Nah it's a choice.
Who wouldn't want to be shunned by society, sent to prison for years, threatened with castration or murder by every random yokel that finds out and then labeled as a sex offender for the rest of their lives?
They choose to be attracted to children just the same as men choose to be attracted to women.
nobody in my immediate family has, as far as i know.
there seems to be an unwritten rule against them among the witnesses.
(or maybe a written rule i'm not aware of).
Yes I am much better,
Glad to hear it.
I always thought therapists were like mechanics; You just keep going back for the rest of your life so you don't fall apart.

One would have to be nuts to talk with a psychotherapist.
Everybody is nuts.
Did you ever (or do you think you will) reach a point where you are 'all better now' and don't need to see the therapist anymore?

Hah, wow.
I didn't think they'd even LET your mother sit in. That's pretty much guaranteeing you can't speak freely.
I don't think I'd trust the guy to be legit and confidential unless I had chosen and paid the man myself.

Have you hired one? Why did you? And was it worthwhile?
Do you think they'd be useful to everybody, or only people with specific problems.
