Welcome!! I had a number of friends at Wat Farm that got laid off. Some took it really hard. Strange how a volunteer can tell another volunteer we don't need you anymore. They did you a favor. Glad to have you contributing.

Talesin, now your the one knocking my socks off! I saw on PBS the Troubadours tour. Sounds like the second part is what I heard was coming. By the way, Carole is about 70 years old now. Hard to believe and how time flys!

Talesin, yes I have seen it. Also there is suppose to be some kind of new documentary or something being released about Carole. Not too sure of any details. Probably info on her web site about it, I have to check it out myself. Radio city was a awesome place to see her, especially that part of the city was her old stomping ground. I was very early for the concert, couldn't go inside yet, was waiting outside close to where her tour bus was parked hoping i could say hello to her and thanks for 40 years of enjoying her music. Then I heard her tuning up inside, she had already gone in.

Talesin, yes! twice. The Living Room tour about four years ago? First up in Saratoga Preforming Arts Center (NY) and the following year, same tour at Radio City in NYC.

Thank you talesin! Carole is known as a pianist, but the two times I saw her live in concert she played the guitar when she did Smackwater Jack.

Just too too many to list. About three weeks ago we saw the Doobies and Skinnard in concert. Was one of the best concerts I ever saw. But the one who really knocks my socks off and always has is CAROLE KING. Some of her lesser known songs are the ones I like the most, she is great!

WOULD THE WATCHTOWER ACCEPT A LARGE FINANCIAL BEQUEST FROM A DISFELLOWSHIPPED JW'S ESTATE?
by steve2 ini ransacked entire dusty volumes of watchtowers in search of an answer to this vexing question.
imagine that a jw has been disfellowshipped for apostasy .
would the watchtower accept such bequests?.

You bet!!! They would use that scripture and I forget just how it goes, but it has to do with serving Jeh with dishonest gain.

What is there to hide? 100% Transparency.
by HintOfLime inwhy doesn't the wt provide 100% transparency?
what does "god" and his "faithful and discreet slave" have to hide from anyone?.
mind you - non-religious non-profit organizations are doing it.

Walkill Bethel Recreational Facility
by dontplaceliterature inmy wife and i just visited some friends over the weekend from another congregation.
these two are both full time pioneers, and also participate in various construction projects around the country.
the husband just got back from a 3 week trip to walkill, new york to help with construction on a new residence building at 'the farm' (does anyone call it that anymore?)..

MOST, the MAJORITY, like maybe 99% of dubs have no idea about their rec facility. I guarantee it will never be on a farm tour. The KM won't mention it. The widow giving up her coins will never know.
