Is it wrong to teach your kids how to think?

okay, i know better than to ask this group that question.

critical thinking helps people to see propaganda as it is being presented and enables people to see through lies and other bs disguised as 'truth.'.

yet, my wife told me tonight that she did not want me to teach our child how to think.

I would think a loving creator, like a loving father would be happy to answer all the s questions his children ask him.

Thomas Jefferson delighted in watching his granchildren reading and soaking up knowledge.

A father would encourage them to explore, think, ask questions, come up with answers on his own, my dad was always glad when i "used my head."

To stifle a child asking questions is wrong, they will never be able to think for themselves. Just wait till the first time they are approached by a drug dealer. If you use up your alloted amount of allowed questions, then you are a debater.

This is what JW's want to happen so you will just blindly cough up the coins at the back of the Kingdom Hall (Becuase the Lord loveth a cheerful giver after all and we want to please him right?)

We all know what happens to people who cannot think for themselves...does Jim Jones and David Koresh come to mind?

i mentioned rutherford's cadillacs to my study conductor, and he said maybe rutherford was able to purchase them because he was independently wealthy.

were they purchased from his own personal wealth or with the wt funds?.

And sine you my friend are not the author of the book (the bible), I do not expect you to stand in to debate for a position either. Yet, you feel you can becuase you are "one of His own".

Jesus did not "debate", he answered questions as lovingly and honestly as he could. Yet here I am seeing a Witness being drawn into a stupid argument.

With all the pedophilia I just read about on another JW site, (JWFacts) I hope the parents guard this child well.

I honestly never thought I would ever hear of such things going on among JW's. At one time I would have trusted them 100%.

It's ok, I am doing the same thing and reading up on them, seeing the things I should have seen long time ago.
