Judge sanctions WTS - $4k per day penalty for not producing sex abuse documents
by Simon injudge sanctions jehovah's witnesses.
imposes $4000-a-day penalty for not producing documents in sex-abuse case.
by dorian hargrove, june 24, 2016. a san diego superior court judge has ordered the church of jehovah's witnesses, also known as the watchtower bible and tract society of pennsylvania, to pay $4000 a day for every day that it fails to produce documents requested in a civil lawsuit brought by former parishioner, osbaldo padron, who claims a church elder sexually abused him when he was seven years old.. in a june 23 ruling, expected to be made final today, judge richard strauss admonished the church for willfully ignoring a court order to produce all documents associated with a 1997 body of elders letter that church leaders sent to parishes around the world in a quest to learn about sexual abuse of children by church leaders.. over the course of the past year, the watchtower society and its lawyers have fought hard to keep the letter confidential, claiming that turning over the documents would infringe on the privacy of those mentioned in the letter that were not associated with the case.. in march 2015, the church turned over a heavily redacted version of the letter.

watchtower is spending 720.000 dollars + 8 lawyer fees = at least 1 million already. well spent donation money. RO, how do you feel the watchtower is using your money to defend a recidivist pedophile?

ARC Analysis Summary of Case Files
by Richard Oliver ini have been doing research on the arc as some people on here have suggested.
i find it interesting on the case file analysis some of the findings.
it looks like queensland and new south wales had the biggest problems with this.

If the DOJ figures are correct, why is it that in every court case where a witness is brought before justice, he is found to be a reoffender already... usually this fact is well known by the elders and the service department. But he is allowed to continue. Until some victim or the parents are willing to swim against the stream and report it to the authorities.

It seems very hard for Richard to accept the analysis of case files from the people who compiled them. Just like everything else that does not fit his agenda. The only conclusion that always comes to light is that watchtower always puts its own interests first, and that the children's protection is of lesser importance. The watchtower has an appalling record. The good thing for Richard is that he is still here and writing. Just like with many others, sooner or later he will understand he is defending the undefendable.

the number is important to demonstrate that the witnesses have a serious problem and they do not want to do anything serious about it. they had 1006 chances to report to the authorities and they reported ... nothing. so even if the number was 500 or 200, it still would be shocking, and the witnesses knowingly put a lot of their own children in harms way. You have kids? you should start worrying now if you're still attending meetings, and letting them go in service with congo members. good luck

Honest Questions About Child Abuse
by Richard Oliver ini have two honest questions for everyone here.
i understand that most here want retribution from the courts against watchtower for child abuse allegations.
but let us take away the instances where someone was accused of child abuse and then later put back into a position of authority, such as an elder or an ms. let us just take the cases where a regular publisher or even an appointed person, with no previous accusation of child abuse has come up against that person.

The Watchtower is not guilty of the child abuse itself, it is guilty of knowingly giving child abusers access to children, and for withholding important information from parents that enables them to protect their children. For that they have to pay damages and change their ways of working.

2 child abusers per large congregation known by the elders is not far fetched. Even when it is only 1, remember he will do a lot of damage to a lot of kids. Just imagine one of them is yours. And you will never be informed to protect Jehovah's name. That is what's going on, all the time

Other organizations and churches have organized independent contact points to ensure that the process is free of any conflict of interest and the authorities are informed right away. Jehovah's Witnesses have no excuse whatsoever for not participating in such a thing.
