Well, Once you get baptized, the elders do have power to kick your ass out of the organization, As a result, you will experience shunning, etc... I am not df'd. I do have some contact with my JW family. I prefer to keep it that way for now.

"Inactive" non Attenders, how much power do the JW's have over YOU ?
by Phizzy ini was thinking about this because of the constant reminders we get in posts that we inactive non attenders have to be careful what we say to jw's, and what we do that they may learn about etc, if we don't wish to be before a j.c. the power they have is limited by what we give them.
now, i do not wish to be declared df'd of da'd, it would kill my old mum i think.. but i refuse to live my life looking over my shoulder, that, in my opinion, is giving them too much power.. i openly vote, i openly donate blood, i enjoy the odd cigar etc etc.. how much power do you allow them to have over you ?.

Are hot springs and saunas approved by the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by jwleaks insatan’s snares today.
in the main, satan’s tricks have not changed over the centuries.
in order for christians living in the corrupt city of corinth not to be “overreached by satan,” the apostle paul gave them strong counsel.

NN, My Elder Dad is the same way! He invested his money for many years as JW. He is at the Nursing Home. My Mom too. I am living in their house for free. Maybe I will write a book more about me and how I was raised by my JW parents. Very Long Story. He rarely takes vacation out of town. He was way too frugal with his money. He religiously donated to the contribution box at KH with $100 check monthly for years. Go figure!

Gargamel, I think if one more gb member dies, I would not be surprised if they will be discussing to add some few more new gb members just like they appointed Stephen Lett, Samuel Herd, David Splane and Guy Pierce to the gb in 1999.
