Convention without a 'Badge'
by IMHO ini attended a convention recently but didn't wear a badge i was treated with the utmost suspicion.
particularly when i arrived during the sessions one day.
the attendant didn't want me wandering off to find a seat on my own.

In 2008, I went to District Assembly, one sister was literally looking for my badge on my coat and she did not see anything, she left me without saying a word.

What was your volunteer job(s) at DCs?
by mummatron inseeing as it's that time of year i've been reminiscing.
i used to volunteer as i really struggled to sit still all day, even with all the note-taking and sitting next to the deaf loop system and watching the bsl interpreter to try and learn a bit of bsl.. i have.... counted and voided food tokenspacked fruit bags at a sandwich stallcleaned the stadium at opening and closingcleaned and attended ladies toiletsmanned (or should that be womanned?!

cleaning, serving cokes and other soft drinks(from coke fountain) when I was a kid. They point which one they want, then I serve them)(I am deaf) evaluating sign language interpreters before they are on the program, I put chairs on the floor and chairs off the floor, I think that is it.
