worse than that , as I remember. Still, things will get better.
Dam stupid religion!
i know exactly what happened... he thinks i'm going to die at the big a and wants to be with someone he can live forever with.... we have two girls, ages 3 and 1... i really thought we'd make it despite the religion, now i really don't think so... not sure what to do... .

My experience was that the kids were upset, but coped. Try to focus on what you want and need, now and in the future.
Hang in there!

Cognac, I'm not a jw, but my husband left when our children were young and I raised them as a single parent. It was a hard time when the break up happened and no bed of roses after that, but doable, and there is support. PM me if I can help, or you'd like to chat.

1. my husband's time is finite, it's wasted on spouses arguing over money, sex or family mattters with stupid home visits.. .
i hate people's constant open hand for money, it's the weak individuals asking others to pull their weight.
my family worked extra hours instead of begging the strong members for district assembly money, cat food for seven cats or tiny little rag-a-muffins weiner dogs.. .
Aunt Connie,
My ex-MIL was not a jw but a "Christian" and had many similar issues, particularly the anger and the need to be seen as perfect.
I believe that much of the problem is down to the controlling religion. Despite many contrary NT messgaes they promote that
1. There are rules that must be strictly obeyed.
2. "Good" people that follow them will be rewarded in this life and the next
3. "Bad" people that don't must be punished and ignored until they see the error of their ways.
So, according to your rules, you have done your best and are not rewarded with universal approval or happiness. Time to take a hard look at the rules and the rulers!

Welcome, AuntConnie!
I hope this forum helps you even just by letting you vent. By doing so you are also helping lurkers who still partly or fully believe that jws have all this "love amongst themselves".
There are a lot of rough spots in your life. How do you think losing your mother will help with them?
Keep posting and reading, and I sincerely hope things become clearer for you.

i've been browsing and reading threads here for a while.
i am never a jw, i am in a relationship with an inactive one, who in fact is in the middle (not knowing what to believe anymore).
i have read some of the threads here about stories of those who have experience with jws and mostly ended up hurt but there also some who made it.. and some of the threads/info/works that you all have done here are really great!.
Hello and Speargrass55!
hey,.
i've been lurking on this website for a few years now and finally made an account.
i have serious doubts about the organization in general and still have not made up my mind about what to believe.
Welcome, Nancy
you say I'm constantly learning
That's a great philiosphy, even a life plan. Keep doing that . . and the light will get brighter

huibers, a christian, used books 6-9 of genesis as his inspiration, following the instructions god gives noah down to the last cubit.
translating to modern measurements, huibers came up with a vessel that works out to a whopping 427 feet (130 meters) long, 95 feet (29 meters) across and 75 feet (23 meters) high.
story here.. .
Perry, are you seriously saying that if sedimentation rate is not constant, this is evidence for a global flood?
ok heres a thought i recently saw, and it floored me!
its something i amazingly never thought of, it seems to be hiding in plain sight.. as we know most if not all plants need insect pollination to live.
without ants, bees, flies etc.. pollinating them, they would not reproduce right?
Hi BU2B, It's all covered in jgnat's post - I'd just point out that since Gen 1 (animals before humans) and Gen 2 (Adam before animals) are contradictory it's a bit difficult to belive the "Genesis account"
