i already said farewell in my apology post to julie.

but many of you may not have read it since it was specific to her.. i was planning a long farewell statement because i have a number of things i want to share, but decided i would do that in private if anyone wishes.

This is a new year you really must come up with new material. yawn.

As far as things I need to work on? Yeah there are many. However as far as such issues you raised (that seem to be more of an issue for you than myself btw -seeing how you continue to bring them up over and over) should I need advice, I think I prefer to get advice from a real professional who actually speaks to their clients.... Not some online therapist wannabe. Maybe one day you will be one. Keep working on it.

And just as an FYI, the purpose of my post was to help someone who I think is likely being very hurt by the continued barrage against them.

Freedom of speech is wonderful except when it is used to further abuse and intentionally hurt someone. One of your apparent favourite uses of your freedom.

If you, in your comment to Alan, are referring to the time someone at H20 tried to out you to your elders etc, you are forgetting that it was ythe most stalward apostates that defended youand condemned that person threatening you.

The administrators and Moderators backed you completely as did Farkel and Alan. I think you insulted the wrong person... not that you care.

Hey Julie:

I have intentionally stayed out of this matter. I personally saw both sides making valid points.

However on the personalization issue, I just went back and started reading the threads from the beginning.

In Amnesian's second reply in that first thread, she started using terms like you, all you elders, everyone who served as an elder is guilty, when you went up on the platform puffing your chest...this of course would be viewed as a personal comment against amazing (or really any male who happened to serve in that capacity who might be reading the thread).

It was not Amazing who started making it a personal issue IMO.

And honestly I don't see why you are finding it necessary to pull him down and insult him with every one of your posts on this matter. He has already conceded to a degree ..he has been 'humbled' why is it necessary to continue to kick him when he is down and most likely gone? And no I am not an Amazing worshipper or anything.

Just seems out of charactor to the more charitable-minded, kind-hearted Julie I knew at H20.

"MARKED" over UN issue

last oct.i was shocked to be invited to a "legal" party to be held in feb. i was under the impression i had been "marked" since i was out of the loop close to a decade.. so i checked the box that we'd be attending the big 50 anniversary of my aunt & uncle, i included the un fax & articles from guardian paper.

on the return card i added an asterisk by the checkmark.. "can you verify that there will be no public reading of "softball" articles of "awake" promoting the un at this event?

i'd hate to see my young daughter exposed to the spiritual sight of watchtower's feet 666' in the air.. i received a reply this week.. dear ..... thank you for your response to our anniversary party invitation.

Maybe I did come down too hard.

However it doesn't change the fact that IMO it was rude on his part.

All his actions accomplished was to make his family dig in their heels and put blinders on. Such actions should be discouraged not encouraged.

His JW family actually invited him to a function, reaching out an olive branch despite his being out of the org for 10 years. He shoved that olive branch in their face with his actions.

People here condemn the Witnesses for shoving their beliefs in other people's faces, it would be hypocritical not to point out the same fault when done by ex-JW's.

I don't think it has as much to do with marking as it does with showing poor taste.

I personally would have univited you too if you had shown such callous disregard for a happy family function to preach or shove your personal religious beliefs in my face like you did. Just like many claim the Witnesses do to their unbelieving family members.

Hey I dislike the fact about the WTBS whoring itself to the UN as much as anyone here, but how you presented it was in my opinion, poor etiquette, reaching far over the line of rudeness.

I think you owe your family an apology for poor timing.

Did you really expect them to react any differently to your reply?

Why do some insist on behaving like WT stereotypical apostates?

Watchtower and Awake Subscriptions

we just had a letter read in our cong.

informing us that the society will no longer be sending out the magazines by subscription.

the letter said that this brings the usa in line with the rest of the world.

The switch to delivered subs happened in Canada around 1991 or 92.

I wanted to bring this thread back up to the top.

We need more of this kind of positive energy right now I think.

There was a similar thread started in the past few months but cannot remember the title for searching.

Many people listed what they were thankful for and/or considered their greatest happiness. Anyone remember that thread?
