  ajwrb was approached early on about working together on these issues.

  we took a hard look and opted out for ethical and pragmatic reasons.

  though the issues share a common thread (child abuse), they have to be approached in different ways.

  First of all I agree whole heartedly with Lee's comments and more importantly the approach taken to the issue of blood by Lee and the AJWRB. It is well thought out and delivered in such a manner that it reaches the necessary audience.

  A sensationalized media frenzy will not work in this matter. The political climate right now is severely biased towards individual rights. A person's right to chose. Any attempt to take away or belittle those rights in the media will fall flat. Now is not the right time for such measures. By this do not infer I am against such right of choice for I am not. But to encourage forced transfusions on adults will be rejected ..and should be as long as the decision is an informed one !!! edits

  Formalized presentations, articles in respected medical journals carries far more weight than something appearing in the National Inquirer.

  So Nancee, anewperson, all JahChristians, and such like people please do not let your zealousness lead you into doing something stupid that could jeopardize or affect the legitimacy of the AJWRB or SilentLambs efforts

  I realize you do not need anyone's permission to do such things, but please think them through before you do!

  Locks on Bethel Doors: True?

  i recall that it's been mentioned in passing here on a few threads that there are locks on the bethel rooms.

  this to me is significant, since when i was there in the sixties, there were none, and this wasa source of considerable pride in some circles.. can someone confirm, please?.

  during my day, they caught one bethel thief, a guy whose dad was a prominent circuit overseer who served in nyc at the time.

  Locked - All exterior doors except for lobby (during BUSINESS hours)
  Locked - Bethel Office
  Locked - Housekeeping stations
  Locked - Commissary
  Locked - Bethelite storage room
  Locked - Individual lockers within storage room
  Locked - Bicycle storage rooms
  Locked - All offices
  Locked - Bethel Family Library
  Locked - Most of their brains from deep thought

  The reasoning, in these last days critical times hard to deal with will behere. During these times we must be innocent as doves yet cautious as serpents. We don't want to make ourselves an easy target to those amoral people outside the faith.

  Yet it is interesting that most of the locks seem to be more to stop bethelites from getting into such places, not outsiders.

  Lurker....wants expert assistance (question)

  i got a couple of lurkers emailing to me at the moment!.

  anyway.... one of them has a question and we need the input of a boffin like alan f, or jt.. elderly lady, just got df,after 40 years of service, wants to know, now shes df, will the org still take her money that shes bequeathed to them in her will.?.

  does she need to change her will to prevent the org from gettings its clammy claws on her bucks.?.

  You will need to change your will and I would specifically mention in the new will that not only does this new Will replace any before it state that you specifically do NOT want the WT Society to receive any benefit from your estate monetary or otherwise.

  There is a reason the Society wanted you to send a copy of your Will to them, so when you die they can go after your estate for what they feel is rightfully theirs.

  There was one case in Australia where the person was DF'ed and the Society took the family to court. They settled only giving 40% of the estate to the family.

  This is definitely a situation where you would want a recognized attorney to prepare this document for you.

  Welcome to our little piece of cyberspace. Intersting bio and I look forward to getting to hear more of your JW experiences as well as how you have grown since leaving the Org.

  This is a great place where you will find a variety of opinions, bliefs and survival techniques in dealing with leaving the JW's.

  We even have our own zealous 'pioneers' trying to convert people to another religion. (Just a word of warning in that regard.) LOL

  There are a lot of great people with varied stories. I suggest checking out the Personal experience section of this forum. Some of the stories will no doubt echo many of your own thoughts.

  As far as your kids goes, the threats of a man made organization are powerless against your children. They only have power if we give them such. As you read and research things for yourself you will find most of the teachings/threats of the Org to be hollow.

  Best wishes on your journey away from the WatchTower. If we can be of any help, just ask the board or find someone you connect with and ask them. Most here are always willing to lend a hand.

  I have a confession to make

  i couldnt sleep tonight, i mean i just went to bed and tryed, but something inside of me forced me back up to write this post, and im dead tired.. i guess i always knew that i did it, even though it fell deep deep into the pits of my mind.. at times ( like now ) when i look back and think " did i really do that " at times i almost convince myself that it wasnt me, it was a story someone had related to me, a scene in a movie that i somehow integrated into my memory and now wasnt sure if it is real or not etc etc.. friggin damb it though, as much as i find relief in toying with the forced denials of it all, and then wondering onto a different thought line without ever coming to a conclusion or facing my actions and dealing with it in an appropriate way......i guess thats what im attempting to do here at 2:20 in the bloody morning !.

  i think i remember touching a girl ( she was 12 ) in an inappropriate way.

  she was the young daughter of the family that were studying with my parents, and during the study i would play with the kids and anyhow.. im sorry if this sounds weird, its late, im tired and with all this talk lately i guess it has surfaced out from the latent annals of my deepest memory.. .

  Some how I can't help but feel that Bathory is yet again plying his stupid mind games on the participants here.

  Just as he lied in the past. Likely he will wait until enough people post, then say he was only 4 years old and it was his 12 year old baby sitter or something like that.

  If he is actually confessing this happened when he was an adult or mature teen, this is the wrong place for such a confession.

  Just as the elders are not qualified to deal with allegations of abuse, the participants at an anonymous forum are also not qualified to help you deal with any such claim.

  If legitimate, go to a therapist or proper authority in your area. Determine the validity of your repressed memory. Once that is done, take steps to take responsibility for your actions.

  Once again, this isn't the place IMO for the help you need (whether your story is fabricated - mindgames - or not)

  Mr. Bowen-Actually the top priority is to protect Watchtower money. And we want to make sure whatever steps need to be taken, both by Legal, Service and the elders, protect us from getting sued by child molesters. Our second priority has to do with confidentiality and making sure victims or their families warn no one in the congregation about the molester. Our third priority is to silence any other member of the congregation from saying there is any problem with child molestation by disfellowshipping.

  Actually the number one priority above all other is to protect the reputation of the organziation. They will do or say anything, including gross distortions of truth in order to protect the good name of the Watchtower Society. Then comes money etc.
