well, here are my thoughts on the subject.

we sit here and bash the wbts for having gender separation, but what about us apostates?

do the women apostates carry as much weight as the men, and why do you say so?

As much as I hate to quote the Society, "We are making a difference one person at a time."

I think of the work Lady Lee is doing to help abuse victims..phenomenal!!! Yet is she tearing down the Tower? Not really but she is helping people. So too Lisa, you have helped a lot of individuals. At least in my opinion that is far more praiseworthy than massive attempts to shake the monolith.

I know a lot of women (men too) from these boards that are making a difference one person at a time. These efforts are not the ones that gets the headlines. Dateline will never be tempted to do a show about how Mr. or Ms. JWD provided information and support to Mr & Mrs. thinking of leaving (Didn't those names from the drama crack you up??) But it is making a dent. The numbers of JW's has become stagnant and the Society is noticing. Corroding the numbers is an effective weapon against the Society.

I am not trying to deter larger efforts but these larger efforts should not be viewed as more important than an individual's efforts to help one or two people.

I am sorry that there has been this negative trend from people towards you. Please don't let it discourage you from helping others (I know that it won't). Thanks for your efforts Lisa

Interesting comments. I think there is a certain amount of truth to your initial thoughts.

Your comments above however could be viewed as an example of taking factual information and fitting into a pre-conceived sense of bias.

I don't know why the individuals you wrote did not reply. One possibility is thta they don't agree with your approach. I am not saying this is my position regarding you, but it is a position I have taken with some others.

For example, I outright refuse to have anything to do with the people involved with the JahChristian Group. Why? Because in their zeal they muddle up the hard work of others. Like all here my time is precious. I do not like throwing my efforts into a project only to have it muddled up by these self righteous zealots.

Thankfully Lisa, you are not like this in my opinion, however not knowing who it is you asked for help I cannot rule out that others might feel that way. It is possible that it has nothing to do with your gender. It may, but at this point it is an assumption that should not be viewed as fact.

I wish you well in your battles.

um... help please from any medical types

this is a bit off topic, but i hope someone might give me a little insight on a delicate matter here.. my significant other has applied for life insurance, and of course must have the obligatory "home visit" where they take his blood pressure, blood sample, pee sample, etc.. we are barely making ends meet as it is, and are trying to sign him up a a non-smoker.

(he's gonna quit, anytime now.

i swear.

Some of you are hilarious. You are claiming that the JW's orchestrated this whole thing??

At best.. an individual JW looking for attention may have done so.

This is not how the Society operates. They sincerely think they are dispensing spiritual food at the proper time. The Branch office would never approve a hoax like this.

What I see happening is a bunch of GI Joe wannabees overreacting and putting 2 + 2 and getting 666.

New BOE letters every day!

Have you out-grown playing pranks?

my daughter was on my pc and i was still signed into my im.

i was trying to take a nap.

anyway, a fellow member of this board ..who shall remain nameless signed in on im and my daughter told them i was napping, this then made me a prime target for a prank..

Vaseline on the inside door knob of the bathroom.

Make a Glue strip along the middle of the first ten sheets of toilet paper. re-roll.

Tightly roll up one or two ketchup packets and place under the stops of the toilet seat.

Insert and hide a jalepeno seed inside the tube of toothpaste.

Take Squeeze bottle of shampoo. Unscrew top. Cover with small piece of saran wrap and put the top back on.

While male (Husband, brother, nephew, friend) is asleep. Lightly paint their nails (toes often work best because they usually won't see it till they put on their socks ) with your brightest nail polish

Place room temperature whipped cream in their hand. then light tickle the end of their nose with a feather.

Is that enough to get even with your kids?

Forgot My DFg Anniversary

i can't believe i forgot to celebrate my disfellowshipping anniversay.

they made the big announcement on june 8, 2000. i was so busy trying to find out when weekend magazine was going to air, that i just simply forgot.

oh well, i guess this means i'm healed and could give a poopy.

My last meeting was August 31, 1997. My last field service report was July's. I wanted one number to disappear for the last month of the Service Year.

I do celebrate my freedom on that anniversary but really try to do it year round (lol - the last part sounds like how I explained not celebrating Mother's Day)

i just heard on the news tonight that one of the chief advocates for jehovah's witnesses on the supreme court of canada has retired!

the honourable madame justice claire heureux dube has retired from the bench.

she began her career as an articling student for a montreal based law firm which was used by the society and the then very young glen how to defend them in the matters durrounding the actions of the very anti-jw premier (similar to the us governor) of quebec, maurice duplessis.

The Honourable Madame Justice Claire Heureux Dube has retired from the bench.

She began her career as an articling student for a Montreal based law firm which was used by the Society and the then very young Glen How to defend them in the matters durrounding the actions of the very anti-JW premier (similar to the US governor) of Quebec, Maurice Duplessis.

So as a very young woman she was spoon fed all the rhetoric of the then persecuted JW's. Glen has maintained a regular correspondence with her. Though to her credit she maintained a certain judiciary aloofness in her replies.

However her respect for Glen How (and subsequently the JW's) was extremely manifest in her deference to him in any of his Supreme Court appearances.

That element and any of her potential influence (in favour of the Witnesses) on the other Justices outside of the courtroom has now been removed with her retirement.

I personally think she has been a very good representative of the People of Canada on the Supreme Court but still feel this can work well to the keeping a level playing field in the Supreme Court for any action former JW's may take to this high court.
