this is the big 1000 for me..... its funnie cause i know that you need 1001 to become a jedi but alas i will have to wait another hour (i couldnt wait to start the festivities though .

oh well...the question remains..... will the force be with me?.

ok so my parents big deal has always been while i may not go to meetings they are free to ask about my religious status, and invite me to meetings (i do not have to accept the invitation) as long as i live under their roof.

my parents other big deal is to go out to lunch after the sunday meeting.

in fact, they usually say "say, wanna come to the meeting tomorrow?

i remmember the idea that god has been around forever, to be a bit confusing as a witness.. does this really make sense?.

heres two reason why it doesn't.. 1.what was the first thing god did?.

so either it wasn't the first thing , if there is not a first thing god did see point 2,or god had a begining.

I once had a fellow ask me if God could do anything. When I replied that he could, he then asked, "can God create an object which is heavier than He (God) can lift??? Good question.

Time For A Break

i enjoy corresponding with one and all, but due to having so many other things to do; i feel the need to get busy doing them.

i was looking for some bad 80's pics to post of me in another thread, and i came across a ton of me and my sister.

there is a big age gap between us, she is 12 years older than me.

so when i was in kindergarten she was a senior in high school.

well yesterday i go the visit of two elders of my congregation, my wife told them that i was acting like an apostat as i talked two days before to two mormons, yes i told them that that they were in a cult like the jw's and they couldn't think for themselves like us, boy i got a real sermon from them, my wife told them that i was on anti-depresants and that they made me ack a bit crazy sometimes, well i know one thing, it wont be the last time i will here from them.

i know 3 years ago i got a talk by the elders but that time it was for buying lotto tickets, again my wife found a ticket in my pocket that i forgot when i put my cholths for washing.

i got the talk, but no sanctions again.

its funny when you think about what the dubs say about us, if they know we are out of the org.

for not believing anymore, they think we have lost our minds, that we are crazy, mentally corrupt.

even if one repents and goes back to the borg he is watched like a hawk.. but now if one has sex with a goat or he runs off with another woman and leaves behind his wife and children to provide for themselves, or he screws you out of your money and leaves you broke, but repents he was not crazy, it was a moment of weakness.

Yes, we all started using our minds once we left the borg. We couldn't or wouldn't continue to run to see what the Watchtower had to say about any given subject.

Update: My Uncle's funeral

well my friends....my real friends...the funeral is over.

i can count 5 witnesses...only 5, that offered any sort of comfort to me.

those are the ones that i know really love(d) me.

Hello Fire,

I went back and read one of your earlier posts in which you were somewhat encourgaged when you were told you could visit their home and ride in their car with everyone else. Then they turn and revert to their old shunning ways. Ugly Duckling hit the nail on the head, they were just using the funeral for a another chance to witness to you. In the process they did a good job of yanking your emotions around, and I am terribly sorry you had to go thru all of this. I just wish there was more that we could do in the way of supporting you. As far as your parents are concerned, what is that "h" word?

Seeking your opinions on contacting relatives

it's been eight years since i have spoken to any of my relatives.

some (cousins, nieces, nephews) were young children at the time; now some are 18 and older.

they are not allowed to speak to me, but of course those rules don't apply in the reverse.

Your parents are the ones on thin ice now. What if all three of their offspring decided to shun them? I'm not advocating that, but I'm sure you get the picture. Also, did you notice you are the shortest of the three?
