Luaus are apparently very enjoyable, and any kind of pleasure seems to be a no, no as far as the old men in the big commune in New York are concerned. On top of that, people who attend these shindigs can associate with others in attendance who may not be witnesses.

Looking Forward To Ur Free Life Or Stil Reflecting And Living A Bitter Past
by m0nk3y inhaving grown up in the jw teaching till the age of 21 and having an alcoholic/abusive father not to mention other f*%$ed up past elements of my life .. i have to say i am overall looking forward to my future as i'm now free of jw oppression.
but what i have notice a great deal in this forum is there alot of x-jws that are very bitter about their past lives and seem completely focused on how f*%$ed up their lives have been.
they don't seem to have an ounce of positveness to their attitude and this concerns me.

In my opinion, you have pointed out the most important reason for the existance of this board. Bitter people need a place to vent or all that bitterness builds up inside of them until there is an explosion. Also, there is a boatload of help available here and hopefully some will take advantage of this opportunity. So, vent away, someone will be helpful. Bug -

Breakdancing is from the Devil
by Huxley insome youngsters (i always hated that word...) in our congregation went to a rock concert.
two out of ten of these kids decided to join in the "mosh pit", and try their hand at "crowd surfing", just like on mtv.
well the other eight kids decided to rat them out to the elders for behaving in a worldly manner.. the local needs talk the following week discussed the danger of music in the life of a young christian.

but physical problems as well
I once knew a young man that had to have surgery to correct a problem down in that area of his body that is necessary for reproductive purposes. The Doctors said the problem was caused by breakdancing. Bug

Article in the Awake about us "Apostate Fighters"
by LuckyLucy intoday i was at work and a jw slipped a watchtower and awake in the mail slot.in the awake there is an article titled "is there an unforgivable sin?
" here is a paragraph that caught my eye.. some people who were once faithful christians have purposely drawn away from god, perhaps because of bitterness, pride, or greed, and are now "apostate fighters" against god's spirit.they willfully oppose what the spirit is clearly accomplishing.
have these induividuals committed the unforgiveable sin?

"Longtime readers of this journal will recognize that genuine, open-ended questions to which you are permitted and encouraged to arrive at your own conscientious conclusions would never find their way onto its pages. Thus, as with any 'question' posed here, the only appropriate 'answer', as deemed by the faithful and discreet slave, is clearly communicated by virtue of the ‘question’s’ very appearance. Spiritually mature ones, as a result of their regular meeting attendance, meaningful field service participation and diligent study of Bible-based publications, will quickly recognize the intended message behind ‘Jehovah is the final judge’ theocratic codetalk and loyally conduct themselves accordingly toward these individuals." --- Editor
I realize I'm not the brightest light on the planet, but the above statement has me really racking the old pea sized brain trying to understand the meaning. I have a little different slant on this than amnesian.
will quickly recognize the intended message behind ‘Jehovah is the final judge’ theocratic codetalk and loyally conduct themselves accordingly toward these individuals." --- Editor
Seems to me if someone claims Jehovah is the final Judge, then they are apostate and should be shunned. Someone please tell me where I'm going wrong. Bug

The bald headed dude is tied off with a safety harness, can't tell about the other guy, but I suspect he is also tied off. I did a lot of climbing in my younger days but the older I got the more "chicken" I became. This pic scared the daylights out of me. Thanks for posting it anyway. Bug

Interesting UK Daily Mirror Article
by DakotaRed insince some consider the us to be the most dangerous rogue nation currently and others have stated we are little more than corrupt thugs, i find this article from the daily mirror to be quite intersting.. .

Simon, you totally ignored the entire article Lew submitted and picked out one sentence, which really wasn't the point the reporter was trying to make, and jumped on it with both feet. I respectfully suggest if you are trying to change the minds of those of us who wish to see the Irag threat neuterlized you are going to need to do somewhat better.

Welcome to the best web site ever. We don't always agree, which is great because we are exposed to other ideas and opinions and we have the freedom to disagree. Our thoughts and speech is not being controlled by some control freaks in New York. Simon has some common sense rules but they are not really a burden. So enjoy !!! Bug

I likewise threw mine in the dumpster, but regret it now some of that stuff is going for a pretty good chunk of change on ebay. It would have also been useful for reference material, but this link does very well in that regard. Don't quit on us Simon.
