  Why you love America

  it struck me, as i guess it has a lot of people, that there are so many threads from both americans and the rest of us that seem to descend into america bashing.

  i thought it might be quite nice to have a thread solely (and i mean solely - if this just turns negative i will call foul) on what we think is great about america.

  as a brit who has lived and been over a number of times there are many parts about america that i think are great and thought is would be healthy to have a positive thread for a change.. so a starter for ten (with a few gross generalisations thrown in):.

  Hmm.....What I like best about America....

  The greenery in some parts. The action figures. OH MY GOD! Awesome! The language....The movies, video games etc. The comic books. The prices on such things. And GUNS!

  That is about it. Everything else sucks. High prices on health care, properties, you name it.

  Rebound religions

  i'm curious how many people here joined the dubs after becoming disillusioned with, or having recently left another religion.. same question for how many joined another church soon after leaving dubbery (and prior to going through a thorough healing process first).. thanks.

  I have begun to attend a non denominational church. VERY nice people. So different from witnesses. I feel comfortable there. I celebrated the Pastor´s son birthday party. First time for me in 20 years or so to do that.

  Jehovah's Snitches

  do members of a congregation usually snitch on each other for "sinful behaviour" a fellow member is caught doing ?.

  like smoking for example.

  how common is this snitching in the name of jehovah and is it encouraged by elders or in propaganda works ?.

  i remember a few years back being involved in the campaign work, and having the distinctly awkward experience of having to hand the householders this piece of sh1t tract "the end of false religion is near!"..

  i recall the discomfort i had trying to get into a conversation about this nonsense.

  since when did "jehovah's education" ever taught you anything significant other than to be a tool and a slave for the wtb$?.

  I applied for a position as head surgeon at Sinai hospital when I was 16 years old. When the interviewer asked where I studied I plopped down 2 bound volumes of the Watchtower and told her I got the best education in the world from these books. She promptly showed me the door. Gee....Did I say something wrong?

  Well rather I was pioneering and even coming here to convert all of the wicked apostates... when all of a sudden I was at a meeting it was November 2010 and one article just said ¨Are you doing enough¨? I said Yes god damn it! I AM! In fact my arse is wore out by it. I quit going right then. I started reading here more with an open mind. My login name used to be Bane but I think I was banned as I couldn´t login anymore so I created this new name. I was an ass when I scripturized here before so first thing I did was apologize to everyone here. I had always had a friend who was like a second mother to me but never a witness in my life so I asked her to send me the book Crisis of Conscience. She did. But before then I read a PDF of it thanks to IssacAustin. Blew me away. When the book came I read that too. Started REALLY studying the bible with my wife. Read all of John together. I still think witnesses are right about the Trinity after that read. Now we are reading Romans. Came across Romans 10:2 where I ALWAYS used to use it against other religions as per how I was taught by the society. Now for the first time reading it in context it is DEFINITELY talking about the jews! MIND BLOWN! So my second mother friend is sending me In Search of Christian Freedom in the mail. Cannot wait to see that one! A reviewer on Amazon says that Franz takes off the gloves with this one.

  None of my friends have ever visited me here. One day when I am more comfortable I will tell my whole story. I have been typing it for a year now.

  I am in mine. I did something I am not sure others have done before. I LIED to them! I am an American living in Mexico. Said I was moving back to the states. Told them to transfer my card to my home cong. They did. Case so far...closed....It will be two years in October.
