Being told you have to "hate the things of This World".
Which is damn near impossible if you have anything resembling hobbies, interests, or pastimes.
there are numerous experiences you might see once getting involved with the jws.. things that come to mind are as follows ........... getting lied to by dishonest men (gb) running an unregulated religoius publishing house.
(wts).
these men created an apostate (commercialized) version of the gospel of jesus and the new to come kingdom order, many from both inside and outside of the organization are starting to realize that .. your mostly likely are getting to be pressured and quilted into spreading about the wts's literature to the public in hours of service as they describe it, with all the attached false doctrines this organization's top leaders make.. you will be closely monitored by congregation elders to how you dress, the length of you hair your attendance, who you are associating with, what are you doing in your private social life etc.. you will most likely going to hear about people who were somehow associated with the organization have committed suicide.

for the first time in my life, i have to admit that the world is rapidly deteriorating.
first i saw a decline in democracy worldwide.
elections were a tough battle every time, unfair too.
Try to stay positive, folks.
The last thing any of us need is to feel tempted to go back to the WT.
in many closed religious cults, sects or globally widely spread religions, sexual abuse on big scale is revealed and covered up by the religious authorities.
in the jw, the culture is to deal with these matters within the org itself, and the rule is, "no crime can be proven without the presentation of at least two witnesses".
men made the rules, men commit these crimes and men defend them and even forse these children to meet and talk to their abusers.
The question of whether or not an offender would abuse his victim in front of a witness is somewhat academic...
...by the 1980s, internal complaints about the problem had reached a point wherein the WTS was compelled to slightly revise the two-witness rule to to classify the first accusing victim as "witness #1" and a second accusing victim as "witness #2", so an actual third-party eyewitness to a single offense was no longer deemed necessary (in no small part because poorly-informed loyalists already had difficulty believing that something like this could even happen, so extreme skepticism amongst elder bodies was the norm, rather than the exception).
Nevertheless, the Org has held so strongly to their interpretation(s) and application of the two-witness rule, NOT because they want to follow so-called "Biblical" standards, but because they've come to depend on it it as a crucial tool in keeping the nature and full scope of the problem from the rank-and-file (plus a century of internal rhetoric and propaganda has made capitulating to any outside pressure an absolute anathema).
Yes, they want to avoid negative publicity, lawsuits, and the expenses both incur, but even more so, the endemic and institutionalized nature of the problem thoroughly undermines their claim of being "God's Exclusive Earthly Organization" like almost nothing else*...
...because, let's face it... despite what some may claim, actually being an active, dutiful JW isn't really all that enjoyable... so without that particular carrot/stick combo, there's virtually zero real incentive for the average rank-and-filer to actually stay.
...
*Not to mention that, in a huge dollop of irony, the staunch application of their previously mentioned "Biblical" standards are arguably making the problem worse...
...and therefore casting doubt on said standards' efficacy and legitimacy, which is pure poison for any organization who derives their authority from the Bible.
the fake news wants us to believe that one cop who murdered one person sparked all this.
i am seeing this crap in london and around the world.
this does not make any sense.
More to the riots than meets the eye?
Agreed.
The protesters have clearly been infiltrated by Decepticons.
since my homepage is drudge report, i'd have to say that the drudge report is what i often check during the day.. of course, this site is clearly one of my favs..
the latest watchtower is now out and they make this statement -.
7 during the thousand year rule of christ, all of jehovah’s earthly children will have to make changes to please him.
so all of them will have true fellow feeling as they help the resurrected ones to combat sinful tendencies and to live by jehovah’s standards.
This idea isn't really all that new.
As a kid, my then-elder Dad once told me that in the New System, everybody - Armageddon survivors and resurrectees - would essentially have to straighten up...
...or else (paraphrasing, but that's the gist).
the latest issue of the watchtower shows a man with a beard praying.. .
i fully expected to see him 'progress' to clean-shaven in the following pictures, but instead he is still bearded when 'applying bible principles'.. .
i then realized that he was already featured on the cover itself.. .
Hmph.
Ten bucks says this is just another tug on the leash.

Of course, the real reason the Org is resisting is because the nature of the needed reforms cannot help but contribute further to public exposure - and worse, tacit admission of guilt - with regards to the problem (not to mention the fact that it's become endemic and institutionalized specifically as a result of their much-vaunted "Biblical" methods)...
...which, in turn, further undermines their fictional status as "God's Exclusive Earthly Organization" like almost nothing else...
...and thusly undermines the only real incentive for the membership to even stay.
hi friends this is just to let people in victoria australia know that they can watch "the witnesses" on oxygen channel on tv as a free trial at present .. and as i don`t like paying for anything i don`t have to its paid off .. so the wife and i watched the 1st episode this arvo and its riveting stuff and will watch the second episode tomorrow .. i don`t know if the same deal applies to the other states or not ,just thought here`s an opportunity for aussies who don`t subscribe to oxygen channel to see it for free..
was a new boy - "...the latter having no teeth."
From what I heard, failure to submit to questioning at the ARC could result in arrest.
That doesn't sound toothless to me.

One of the biggest problems JW loyalists have with the prospect of adopting modern reforms is getting around the mindset that the WTS's own "Biblical" standards (or, more accurately, the Org's interpretation and application of them) could possibly be lacking, or even worse, inferior to any other suggested methods.
Not to mention that in the current "Last Days of the Last Days", there's an immediate knee-jerk resistance to even the slightest hint of capitulation or compromise with "Satan's World", no matter how sensible or ethical the action might be.
This is tentatively confirmed by anecdotal accounts of local Australian Elder bodies pooh-poohing the need to acquire a "Working With Children" classification even when it was required by law to do so...
...although I suspect the real reason is that if they actually did comply, too few applicants would be able to pass the relevant background checks, which would be super embarrassing and difficult to explain to the rank-and-file and make running the Org at the grassroots level way harder...
...because said failed applications would disqualify too many otherwise willing brothers, and thusly leave local congregations uncomfortably short-handed.
