@ wozza...
Yes, it deftly enables them to mitigate the problem without actually having to admit out loud that there’s a problem...
...not unlike transitioning to a trolley-and-park-table-oriented ministry enables them to deflect accusations that “pedophiles are knocking on your doors trying to recruit your kids”.
i have no love loss for the gb or religion and this is not an apologist attempt.
in fact i hate the religion and the gb.
but i watch night after night young kids who's minds have been corrupted by the propaganda and dogma that modern college's are teaching them.
Yeah, when I went to college (as an active JW, no less), I never saw any of the “sinful” stuff the WTS morally-panicked about.

Like I keep saying, the COVID crisis has given them the ideal pretext to transition to an e-religion... something more and more of us believe was on the Org’s to-do list.
Sure, there’ll still be in-person events from time to time, but the rank-and-file have now been primed for it in way that must seem almost God-sent to the WT leadership.
Further KH and AH sales should all but confirm it, IMO.
i might have missed this but blondie was always one of the best posters here.
her analysis and commentary was spot on.. is everything ok with her?
.
Near as I can tell, Debbie and the gang are currently playing gigs in both the US and UK...
...oh, you meant the JWD member Blondie.
😜
now today this is of course a non-issue.
the wt has embraced the big bang/old earth etc just not evolution.
in fact the creator book has some decent info.. however i have a good copy of the 1958 paradise book.
@ Phizzy...
On a related note, I actually liked the way director Darren Aronofski portrayed the Adam and Eve story in an overtly fantasy-esque manner in Noah.
(Really, the whole movie was portrayed that way, but the Creation narrative particularly so.)
now today this is of course a non-issue.

@ JoenB75...
I’ve long found it ironic that the WTS uses Jesus’ reference to the Eden narrative as “proof” of its historicity...
...when Jesus taught almost exclusively using parables and allegories.

so i guess the wt holds free public gatherings, but will sue anyone who publishes a video of the free speeches?
what happened to advertise, advertise advertise the king and his kingdom?
@ Anna Maria ...
Fun fact...
...in Frank Herbert’s Dune novels, the monotheistic Christian religion observed by a number of characters seems to have Islamic elements.
the sopranos was my number one show.
to me it was the best series ever.
for a good laugh, i still enjoy the beverly hillbillies reruns.
I gauge a TV show’s “favourite” status by how much it inspires a “damn, what’s gonna happen next?” vibe.
Back in the 90s, it was X-Files and Babylon 5.
In the 00s it was Galactica.
In the 10s, it was Thrones.
And now, it’s Lucifer (I have never laughed so hard).
now today this is of course a non-issue.

@ waton..,
Fun fact...
...according to Jewish scholars, The original Old Testament writers didn’t necessarily view Genesis as literal history.
That became more of a Christian thing.
