Maybe the WT leadership is worried that at the rate they’re losing members, they won’t have enough people left to properly start over after the Apocalypse.
😏
while most talk about the end of reporting for publishers, i think the doctrinal change is even bigger.. repentance after start of gt still possible?
what does that mean for the judgement message, they pushed a bit lately?.
will that be really just before armageddon?

this is a little out of date.
i found it earlier deleting some emails from a good few years ago:.
feel free to add new lines to this old list!.
If you feel conflicted watching Breaking Amish…
…you might be a JW.
If you can’t remember what day of the week it is without some kind of benchmark…
…you might be a JW.
If little blue garden gnomes make you nervous…
…you might be a JW.
😏
this is going to break the hearts of a lot of uber-jw's!
reddit has now removed the video link of samuel herd telling jw's they will no longer have to report time or placements - just tick a box which says "active.".

NotFormer - “It would probably be better for all parties if they did. The mental gymnastics of faking, fading and fence-sitting can't be good for mental health.”
Oh, for sure.
(not that the WT leadership gives a shit about the mental health of faders, fakers, and fence-sitters)
I imagine it’s somewhat like the Dursleys and Harry Potter.
They wanted him gone ‘cause they hated him, but at the same time, they wanted to keep him around so they could make his life miserable.
😏
so everyone knows the “big news” of this past weekend, no more reporting of hours, placements, return visits, etc.
beginning november 1, jws just tick a box indicating whether they “shared in any form of the ministry during the month”.. so there was a brief comment by a redditor that seems like a brief joke “throwaway comment” but after thinking about it….why not?.
the idea is, what is “any form of the ministry”?
There’s another possibility that could’ve factored into this decision…
…more and more average JWs working door-to-door, trolleys, and park tables encounter “apostates” who they can’t defend their faith from (without lying), and/or regular householders who know too much about the Org’s pedo problems, and aren’t shy about it (like back in the day when they were accused of being “false prophets”, only way, way worse 😏).
I think it’s entirely possible that we’ve reached a critical mass of nonmembers who know too many uncomfortable facts and truths, and it’s actually started to have a negative impact on the witnessing work.
Changing up the ministry could be an attempt to insulate the rank-and-file from that.
just a good conversation at home about the hour report change.. we think the change was not impmemented because the gb are such a lovely bunch of old grandpa's having the best in mind for us individuals.. there will be only, and we say only, an organizational reason for it.
a legal reason, to protect jw.org and it's officials and wealth.. next step?
maybe selling more kh and when jw hollywood studio's in rampoo are ready a change to tv subscription.. what do you think?
I totally get why some folks were hoping for the End in ‘75…
…disco, bell-bottoms, and leasure suits?
Jeezus, I’d want to burn it all down, too.
😏
selena accused tony morris of being involved in child abuse and the pimo bethelite who just got kicked out.
let’s see how this rolls out.
They supposedly brought in legal and financial advisors a little while back, who suggested a number of things the Old Guard didn’t like hearing, regardless of whether or not they were things that the Org needed to do to stay solvent.
Ten bucks says a lot of the things they were advised to do involved - for all intents and purposes - mainstream reform.
If they need a supermajority vote to change something significant, and one or two of the Old Guard “nay”, putting one out to pasture before attempting said reforms would have definitely been on the table…
…and I’m not a big believer in coincidence.

So many folks feel so alienated and disenfranchised by a rapidly changing (by their reckoning) modern world…
…it’s no wonder that the deeply religious amongst them latch onto what they see as the only way through the chaos.
with the change to reporting field service and now allowing people to repent during the gt, presumably up until armageddon, i'm assuming that the "hailstones" message is now permanently on hold.
can someone explain this to me; am i understanding this right?.
I always wondered if they’d have the balls to implement the hailstone message in the first place.

“Growth = God’s Blessing”.
The more publishers, the more they can say they’re blessed.
sometimes things don't come across the way the speaker intended.. years ago there was an ad by the whitegoods company fisher and paykel.
they showed them going to great lengths to get customer feedback on what was important to them.
one customer said that she wanted it to be easy to get her appliances serviced when they broke down.
I didn’t have any really bad experiences as an active JW…
…but the older I got, the more intellectually hamstrung I felt.
It was not a pleasant feeling.
