Not to mention that if reports are accurate, they’re trying to overhaul their eschatology anyway…
…and I pretty sure the UN will be a virtual nonentity in the new-and-improved narrative.
i prepared the following in abrief essay form from my research on the subject.. please read it through.
it will take a few minutes.i believe it is comprehensive enough for use with almost anyone.. if any one wants it in word ot pdf format, i can email it you.. a matter of reason.
the issue of being disturbed by the watchtower society becoming associated with the united nations as a non-governmental organization (ngo) is not a matter of faith, but a matter of reason.. .

let's be honest, there's a stigma to the name jehovah's witness.
if they are going more mainstream.
i imagine the first recommendation was a name change.
in a span of a few months time, we have had many unexpected changes announced by the jw organization.
some here have expressed the belief that a great number of witnesses will leave the religion.
in fact, there is a great probability the opposite will be true.. yeah, ancient hardliners will have a hard time assimilating these changes, but the younger generation will likely welcome these changes.
Ron W. - “…My aged family are desperately trying to find ways to convince themselves to be faithful and loyal to these new dress codes but are seriously struggling.”
slimboyfat - “The new rules allow for people who want to keep dressing the way they’ve always done. Many JWs will choose to do so. I don’t think it should be such a problem from that point of view.”Problem is, after a lifetime hearing everything from WTHQ as marching orders, the prospect of anything being genuinely optional is hard for them to wrap their heads around.
i am sure we were all shocked at the governing body update #2 with the unusual and impulsive changes set forth.. i am an insider at whq, and when i was on reddit and in communication with avoidjw i explained to the best of my ability that the approach on disfellowshipping was going to change based on the new light at the 2023 agm, that the jubilee rumor was false, and there were going to be changes on how jws approached disfellowshipping in response to the norway situation if it didn't turn out in watchtower's favor.
the decision came because of a legal blow to watchtower, not because "holy spirit" wad directing a faithful slave, who is going to become the "evil slave", more explanation on this soon.. everything i stated came true.
i left reddit exjw community due to the immature and mentally unstable nature there, and yet as has been the case my words came true.
TonusOH- “…It's the internet. I take most people at face value. After all, I don't have anything invested, and time will tell if this person was right or not…”
Ditto.

The list of “unintended consequences” they create for themselves is thick enough to choke an alligator.
The post-Menlo land grab is potentially the biggest.
does anyone know how punky is ?
he hasn't posted in a while ?
jan from tam .
Punk’s one of my faves, here.
Can’t blame him if he wants to dial it back, though, he’s earned it.

If they apologize, admit wrongness, or otherwise take agency, they run the risk of too deeply undermining the premise of “God’s Exclusive Earthly Organization”.
Which is something they don’t dare do even with themselves.
all this recent new light etc has everyone talking but none of it is that unusual here in ireland.
i've been df'd for 15 years, my parents started talking to me again when i had my first child nearly 13 years ago now.
last year my sister in law started talking to me again also, at the one meeting i attended last year quite a few people chatted to me and said hello.. i'm just wondering if all this is only a big deal in the usa or is this neck of the woods just particularly rebellious anyway?
Maybe they finally clued in that the more squeaky-clean someone’s image is, the dirtier their secrets tend to be.
😏
the latest study edition mentions hypothetical scenarios of jws who are no longer serving at bethel or no longer elders, etc.
and says we shouldn't speculate, as defaming them could border on slander.. we could unintentionally defame someone by spreading negative information.
..... would it be proper to speculate on the reasons why these adjustments were made and to share that opinion with others?.

re. careful’s post on the previous page…
I know, right? It’s like the Watchtower Governing Body are the collective poster boy for the Law of Unintended Consequences.
