  by now, it should be painfully obvious that we live in a post tonny morris era where the floods of organizational changes have become possible and a new version of the religion, some have called it warchtower 2.0 is emerging with a soft approach to disfellowshipping practices across the board for all those sinners.

  nevertheless 3 groups of people will still be targeted for harsh excommunication, we know the first two well :csa perpetrators and apostates.

  …the WT leadership is fine-tuning the rules to prevent overly authoritarian and/or biased BOEs (a.k.a. “asshelders”)* from handling the congregations in a manner that, rather than having a positive net effect, ends up alienating more members in the long run than not (i.e. creating “apostates”)…

  …which the Org can no longer afford.

  I gotta say…

  …for a good long while there, it definitely seemed like they wanted to get rid of more folks than they wanted to keep; it was talked about numerous times here.

  I guess they finally figured out (or more likely, had it explained to them in a way that didn’t break their brains) that it wasn’t a sound survival strategy.

  Prediction: no more changes for a long while

  i’ve noticed a pattern where things don’t go the way i expect them to go and/or whenever i realise there is a trend and, i mentally adjust for the idea that the trend will continue, the trend stops in its tracks.

  so on that basis, and given many people, including myself, and active jws, have been asking ‘what changes will the governing body make next?’ perhaps the (disappointing) answer is: ‘nothing much for a while to come’.

  maybe they’ve made the changes they want for now, and will wait a while and see how it’s received.

  Update changes well received

  a few weeks later, the witness that i speak, family and friends are very happy with the recent changes .. no one mentions the df aproach change, fieldservice report and free entrance to the paradise for non jw.. only the clothing style and beard are mentioned.. the sisters are all in a halaluja happy modes.

  they are feeling being respected and heard by the lovely leadership.. one brother told me he will never grow a beard because he lost his elder status in the early 90's because of his beard.

  now it's allowed i will not grow a beard he sweared.. it seems jw.org has down a great change job.

  i will paste the text from my 10 year plan post and i will critically evaluate how i feel things will turn out.

  i will add bold italics my thoughts.. the governing body has a 10-year marketing plan to remodel the organization to become closer to a mainstream christian religion.

  I’m actually scratching my head a little over this bit…

  “The Watchtower only cares about obedience to the GB regardless of what they've currently been teaching or what they previously taught. They wouldn't care if even the most hardcore of JWs stumble or question things. All they expect is absolute obedience and quickly readjusting to changes without question.”

  It’s nothing I disagree with, per se… I’m just having trouble squaring it with this statement from Red from a couple weeks back:

  “The Governing Body certainly wishes to let JWs make their own mature decisions, they are tired of the constant letters pouring in asking them their viewpoint on certain matters.”

  These two allegations seem conflicting, but also…

  …the first almost sounds as though the WT and the GB are… separate entities?

  I’d love me some clarification.
