  Kingdom hall cleaning

  what are your memories of hall cleaning?.

  i actually enjoyed it on the whole, my dad as the elder always tried to keep it to under one hour but in my later years in a hard-line congregation it was a chore.

  the po's wife had a printed list and we had to complete it all before left (or got disapproving looks if we left after an hour).. as well as vacuuming the whole building the lost said you had to dismantle the vacuum and clean and polish all the internal elements.

  as an educated guess, the august 2024 watchtower may be delayed because 2 complicated subjects need to be discussed in this issue which haven't yet been approved to be included in the revised shepherding textbook.

  perhaps the revised shepherding textbook must be finalised before this watchtower is released publicly.. the 2 subjects may be as follows:.

  how to shepherd and appoint brothers based on the removal of the hour requirements, getting to know the brothers instead (does this mean prioritising appointing men who have auxiliary pioneered during the co visit and campaigns or men who are regular pioneers?).

  Wanna hear something funny?

  Way back in the early 90s, almost the exact same thing happened with the “Spawn” comic book.

  Art and writing SNAFUs had forced a delay on a couple issues, which weren’t released till months later… which completely disrupted the series’ continuity (and that book was very continuity-heavy).

  Collectors everywhere were confused and upset, but to his credit, Todd McFarlane apologized profusely.

  WT articles are written about a year in advance.

  Simplest explanation?

  There was some stuff in the Aug issue that wouldn’t synch with recent “reforms” they’ve had to implement on short notice, and they hadn’t caught it in time to replace it, or had backup material for that month.

  Oct and Nov’s content were probably fine(ish), but swapping out the dates for everything might have been too much of a hassle.

  …which, ironically, wasn’t even a thing when they first started out.

  i was called on this morning

  for the first time in ages.. a very elegantly dressed senior lady and a young chap.

  but--it wasnt just having a leaflet thrust at me--it was a full blown "old style" presentation.

  i stopped her going to far into it--by asking if they are jws--and told them i was an apostate.

  Former Lancaster, PA Elder convicted of child sexual abuse of multiple victims .......

  another creepy pervert elder convicted of multiple counts of child sexual abuse in pennsylvania.

  this guy moved from puerto rico to lancaster, pa in the 1990's, worked his way up thru to being an elder, and then used his position to babysit families with children and abuse them.

  he then denied everything, but when some victims went to the police, he fled back to pr, where us marshall's eventually caught up to him and arrested him.

  Seriously though, I like visiting there from time to time ‘cause there’s always something special interesting going on. Honestly, the place is a zoo. Signing up though? Not so much. Like I said, the place is a fucking zoo.

  it appears the perp got the victims disfellowshiped!

  the state attorney general has re-opened the botched case.. "the trial for a jehovah’s witness elder accused of molesting three girls in 1999 began in a lancaster county court monday with lawyers giving opening statements to the jury.. norman aviles-garriga, 45, was charged by the pennsylvania attorney general with two counts of aggravated indecent assault and 16 related offenses in connection with assaults alleged by three women who say the abuse happened when they were girls.. aviles-garriga is one of five pennsylvania jehovah's witnesses charged by a statewide grand jury with using their positions within their churches to sexually abuse children.

  the attorney general’s office brought charges against the men in october 2022 and february 2023.. .

  I remember once, a long time ago, they’d proudly stated “no elder has ever been convicted of child abuse”.

  Given what’s going down now, all that does is further confirm that abuse perpetrated by elders was covered up.

  Overlapping Generation

  the september 2015 broadcast had david splane explain matthew 24:34 “truly, i say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place”.

  his explanation of this scripture was by means of a chart to indicate an overlapping generation.. .

  no scripture was used to show the overlapping generation concept, and as a result it makes no sense.. to illustrate how crazy this concept is, look at the lyrics of the song my generation.. my generation.
